Entertainment Report Issue #23.5 (TNA Lockdown Preview)

Welcome the a special Entertainment Report PPV preview. Today I will be previewing TNA Lockdown. The show is this Sunday live from the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas. The interesting part about this show is that all matches are NOT in a cage. The gimmick was fun for the first show back in 2005 but now it has gotten old so this year is actually a bit fresh. Also this is officially the first show is the new PPV format, which I'm really excited about. So let's get into the card...

If you told me a year ago that this would be the main event of a PPV, let alone Lockdown, I would have thought you were crazy. Even better I would have never guessed that it would be a respectful face vs. face matchup. As for the winner, I like both men and respectful how far they have both come but I'm going with my gut and personal opinion...

Winner and New TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Bully Ray

If you take out Garrett Bischoff and put it any masked guy and this is actually a pretty good matchup. The TNA team is stacked and since this isn't the WWE and A&Es aren't The Shield then this is obvious:

Winners: Team TNA (Young pins Devon)

I understand why this match is happening, it doesn't mean I like it. PLUS it's in a cage. Why? This almost seems too obvious but I have to go with it...

Winner: Kurt Angle

Um. We couldn't put this match on TV? I know they have been tagging for a long time but why is this match taking a PPV slot? Yeah....

Winner: Robbie T

Well apparently RVD is not getting his title rematch. I'm okay with that. This will be a spotfest and a fun match, I don't see a title change yet but I hope this leads to some good x division matches...

Winner and still TNA X Division Championship: Kenny King

That doesn't even look like Velvet Sky in the picture, it looks like Stacy Keibler with a rack. That has nothing to do with this match. This could be the best knockouts match on PPV is a while. I'm not sure which way to go here but since Gail Kim brought up the fact that she is undefeated at Lockdown...

Winner and still TNA Knockouts Championship: Velvet Sky

Let's honest here, this could steal the show. I LOVE Daniels/Kazarian BUT I don't think they will win the belts back here...

Winners and still TNA Tag Team Champions: Robert Roode & Austin Aries

Wait what? Did I miss something? Where did this match even come from? Um, I got nothing...

Winner: Joesph Park

Alright that's the final card. Later this morning I will be posting an audio preview that will go more in depth on the matches so look for that. So thank you for reading and have a great week!
