"Blame it on the rain. Blame it on the stars. Whatever you do don't put the blame on you. Blame it on the rain, yeah yeah."-Milli Vanilli
It has been a long crazy week.
First of all sorry for the laziness of last week's double issue. It was Wrestlemania week and i thought it would be a good idea to do a double issue AND four podcasts in 36 hours. It turned out to be a clusterfuck and the blog was affected by it. This week I'm trying a hybrid type of format to try to tie everything together. Hope this works better.
#2, due to time constraints and pure exhaustion, I never had the time to watch Celebrity Apprentice this week. So there is no review this week. My goal is to put both last week and this week's episodes in next week's issue.
#3, because of Issue 27a going up earlier than usual, the full NHL trade deadline rundown wasn't included so it's here this week.
Finally tomorrow The Blake & Sal Show Episode 4 will be recorded last time. Sal and I were joined by special guest Mark Palkowski and we discussed wrestling, the ACMs and sports topics. It was another fun show and worth a listen.
Before we get started I do want to let you know that you should follow @EReport1 for updates and announcements concerning the blog and the podcasts including guests and changes to routine.
Alright let's get into this...

Thoughts
Holy shit! I didn't see that one coming. Jay Briscoe is the NEW ROH World Heavyweight Champion! I'm still stunned. Other than that it was a pretty good show. It surprised me that reDRagon retained but it looks like they are continuing the rivalry so that's all good. Just someone explain to me when Elgin is getting his title shot with Cole facing Briscoe at Border Wars and Steen still has his rematch.

Episode: Giant-Sized Anniversary
In the season finale the crew put together a surprise celebration for Walt's 15th anniversary at the Stash. The
surprise they put together made me envious as a long time Devils fan. Walt, Ming and Bryan got to meet, skate and practice with Ken Daneyko, Jim Dowd and Grant Marshall. Seriously, I was super jealous.
The items in the show included a limited edition 3D shadow box recreating the cover of Batman #4, Giant-Size X Men #1 signed by Dave Cockrum and a production cell from the 1978 film Lord of the Rings showing Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins.
4/4/13-New Jersey at Boston
On his first night as a Bruin Jaromir Jagr scored the only goal of the game and Tuukka Rask made 40 saves as Boston beat the strugging Devils 1-0. Martin Brodeur kept New Jersey in the game making 25 saves but didnt get any offensive help.
4/6/13-Toronto at New Jersey
No matter who they play, the Devils can't seem to get a win. Leo Komarov and Tyler Bozaj scored and James Reimer made 27 saves in the 2-1 Leafs victory. David Clarkson got the Jersey goal, ending their 143:36 scoreless streak.
4/7/13-New Jersey at Buffalo
Despite a power play goal by newly reacquired Steve Sullivan and a shortheaded goal by Mark Fayne, the Devils just couldn't snap their losing streak. The Sabres won the game in the shootout thanks to Nathan Gerbe.
4/10/13-Boston at New Jersey
Despite a crazy comeback in third period, the Devils couldn't get even with the Bruins and dropped their eighth straight game, 5-4. Boston was led by two goals by Gregory Campbell. After being down 4-0, New Jersey got goals from Patrik Elias, Travis Zajac, Andy Greene and Matt D'Agostini but it just wasn't enough.
Over Friday night the Devils are hosting the Ottawa Senators. Then on Monday night they head to Toronto to play the Maple Leafs.
Playoff Picture
The Devils are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference and four points out from the 8th place New York Rangers with both eight games to go. They have a game in hand on the 9th place Winnipeg Jets.
4/5/13-Rockford at Milwaukee
In a very entertaining back and forth game, the Icehogs beat the Ads 4-3 thanks to two third period goals by Rostislav Olesz. Daniel Bang, Scott Valentine and Juuso Puustinen all scored for the Admirals.
4/6/13-Milwaukee at Charlotte
Magnus Hellberg made 18 saves to get his fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over the Checkers. Mattias Ekholm, Juuso Puustinen and Paul Crowder all scored for the Admirals in the huge victory.
4/7/13-Milwaukee at Charlotte
Ryan Ellis scored 3:20 into overtime giving the Ads a hard fought 3-2 victory over the Checkers. Scott Valentine and Daniel Bang also scored for Milwaukee.
In the next week the Ads head to Grand Rapids on Friday night to face the Griffins and then return home on Saturday night to host the Rockford Icehogs. Finally on Tuesday night the Chicago Wolves come to town.
Playoff Picture
The Admirals are currently in the 8th seed tied with the Rockford Icehogs with a game in hand. They are only one point out of 7th behind the Oklahoma City Barons.
The Fire welcomed back captain Logan Pause with open arms this past weekend as the veteran captain returned to the line up after sitting out the first few weeks of the season due to injury. Maybe not the most skillfull player, but a proven leader. Hence the reason why head coach Frank Klopas calls on Pause game after game to be the face of the Fire. Facing a tough match on Sunday against the New York Redbulls, a maximum of three points was needed. An all around fantastic performance from all the members of the men in red in which they earned a 3-1 victory. Daniel Paladini played perhaps one of his best games for the Fire in his career. Scoring one goal and setting up Maicon Santos for the eventual game winner with a brilliant through ball. Santos finished off the game with two goals of his own, possibly securing a starting role at the striker position. Up next for the Fire is a road match up Sunday in Houston.
