Entertainment Report Issue #25 (Glee, DWTS, Celebrity Apprentice, Comic Book Men and more!)

"Springtime, I'm gonna stop and smell the flowers. Springtime, or maybe sit and stare for hours and then lay down and watch a couple clouds go by."-Imagination Movers

Trying to stay optimistic, welcome to this week's edition of the Entertainment Report.

As Wrestlemania season rolls on, we continue to be really busy here at the Report.

You may have noticed that we started podcasts last week. While I'm still getting the kinks out, which is expected early on, I hope you enjoyed the first. Tomorrow look for the official premiere of The Blake & Sal Show and the Admit No One hosted by Kyle as well as other specials. The first place to find out when these are posted is by following our main Twitter account @EReport1. Also I have launched a side blog, The Entertainment Report Podcast Center, that will include all of our shows from here on out.

As for this week's issue, it's jammed packed with the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars, alot of NHL and wrestling news and Scotty now covering the Chicago Fire.

This has been a huge week for Puzzled and Polished. This Saturday at 4pm at Red Mango Riverpoint on N Port Washington Road in Fox Point, WI for frozen yogurt. A portion of the sales will go to the Walk Now for Autism Speaks team Cristian's Cruisers.

Also on the Facebook page there are two major contests going on where you could win jewelry and/or nail polish. So go check all the info and support the cause.

Alright, let's get on with the show...

Feud

I have to give the Glee producers some credit. On paper this could have been a very dull episode that slowly moved the plots along. But that's not the Glee way. This show was music and action packed.

First of all let's start in New York where we find out that Brody is a jiggalo, explained in song How To Be A Heartbreaker. This reveal led to Santana putting the pieces together and confronting him on behalf of Rachel, whom found out she wasn't pregnant, with an extremely sexy performance of Cold Hearted. Well that caused Rachel & Kurt to confront her with one of the best lines of the season, Did you confront Brody with a Paula Abdul song?, and kicked her out. Well at least she got a job at Coyote Ugly.

Meanwhile back in Lima, Artie, Sam, Blaine & Tina got Will & Finn to try to settle their issues by doing a feud song mash-up style, setting up our theme for the rest of the night. This led to a 90s dream combo of Bye, Bye, Bye/I Want It That Way, which while it was extremely entertaining, didn't help much and that causes Finn to leave his position as co-director of New Directions. Before leaving, Marley suggested that he actually get a teaching degree if he loves it so much, which he liked.

Continuing with the theme of the night, Sue confronted Blaine on why he hasn't returned to the Cheerios despite signing a contract. So after embarrassing him, Blaine challenged her to a sing off, Mariah vs. Nicki Minaj, I Still Believe/Super Bass, that has to be seen to be believed. She really killed him with this one. So that meant that he is now a Cheerio. Just when it looked bad, Sam came up to him and was happy because their plan was working and they would destroy Sue from the inside out. That's just intriguing.

Finally Ryder pissed off Unique/Wade because he wouldn't call him a girl. As suggested by his new online girlfriend (which has Manti Te'o written all over it), challenged her to a feud, Elton John vs. Madonna, The Bitch Is Back/Dress You Up. Before I continue, does this performance officially mean bitch is no longer a curse word? Just wondering. Anyway, after what seems to be a meeting of the newbies, Ryder, Jake, Unique, Marley and Kitty, they makeup and it made the group closer. This led to our closing number, Closer.

Now back in New York, Santana paged Brody and got him to a hotel room. Well this led to her pointing to the bathroom and out come, shockingly, Finn! He then beat the living hell out of Brody and finished it by yelling, Stay away from my future wife!

That's how the show ended. Wow, this should be good next week.

Episode: I'm Being Punked By A Jackson

On this week's show the teams were instructed to make a soap opera themed stage play based on Crystal Light.

Guest Judge:Arsenio Hall

Team Plan B
Project Manager
: Stephen Baldwin

In my opinion they had the more entertaining show. Trace stole the show and made everyone laugh. Plus I really liked how they used their guest star, Susan Lucci. They deserved to win.

Winnings: $50,000

Team Power
Project Manager
: La Toya Jackson

Their show, which wasn't that good, wasn't the story here. That was the fight that La Toya and Omarosa. Between that and Omarosa actually leaving the team because of the release of Michael Clarke Duncan's 911 call, it shocked everyone when...

Brought Back to the Boardroom: La Toya Jackson, Brande Roderick & Dennis Rodman
Fired: La Toya Jackson

She deserved to go home just based on the fact she didn't bring Omarosa back to the board room. It was the most shocking and stupid decision ever on the show.

Gary Busey Quote of the Week

"I've healed alot of people in many ways and that's what happens wen you go to the supernatural realm and you get injected with love from angels and I have angelic love in my heart that I give to everyone."

Episode: Stash Wars

This episode was again a very simple stay at home episode. This week we got to see again how nerdy Ming is. It's kinda scared me that he knew the difference between R2-D2 & R2-Q5. Yeah I'm a Star Wars fan but not that much. Also Ming totally geeked out on a set of Garbage Pail Kids trading cards. Other notables were the first two issues of Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe and a collection of Marvel Legends action figures.

3/15/13-New Jersey at Philadelphia

The Flyer got their revenge for the Devils with a much needed 2-1 shootout victory. Maxime Talbot gave Philly a 1-0 lead late in the first but David Clarkson, who finally got on the board, answered back in the second. Johan Hedberg and Ilya Brzygalov stole the show making a combined 48 saves and the game went to a shootout. Claude Giroux won the game for the Flyers.

3/16/13-Montreal at New Jersey

The surprisingly hot Canadiens, led by 32 saves by Carey Price, came into The Rock and pulled a 2-1 victory out. Colby Armstrong gave the Habs a 1-0 lead in the first but Peter Harrold (yes Peter Harrold!) tied up the game early in the second. Tomas Plekanec broke the tie in the third and Montreal held on for the lead.

3/19/13-New York Rangers at New Jersey

In their first matchup of the season, the Rangers got a much needed victory, 3-2 over the Devils. Rick Nash got the game winner early in the second and Henrik Lundqvist had a great night with 29 saves on the win. Travis Zajac and Anton Volchenkov scored for New Jersey in a ver exciting game.

As we hit the home stretch of the short season, the Devils go on the road to play the Carolina Hurricanes (on NHL Network) tomorrow night. They then return home to face the Florida Panthers on Saturday night and then head up to Ottawa to play the Senators on Monday night.

3/16/13-Grand Rapids at Milwaukee

So the Ads finally found a way to get consecutive wins. It started out great in the first with a goal by Mark Van Guilder. Early in the second? Andrej Westrasil tied the game for the Griffins but that was all Grand Rapids could get past Magnus Hellberg on the night. Juuso Puustinen broke the tie with a power play goal and then Joshua Shalla put the game away giving the Admirals a 3-1 victory.

After five much needed days off, the Ads play a three pack over the weekend. Friday and Saturday nights they are hosting the Peoria Rivermen and then the Toronto Marlies and then Sunday they head out to Chiacgo to play the Wolves. Finally on Wednesday night the Admirals will host the Lake Erie Monsters.

With the indoor season coming to a close, we shift our focus to the outdoor season. Milwaukee does not have an outdoor team, but our closest geographical team is the Chicago Fire. A Rocky start for the men in red as they have just one point out of a possible nine, and have yet to score in a regular season match-up. A roster that consists of a completely renovated midfield, and a striker who is still trying to find his rhythm, brings a feeling of urgency, but not panicking at this point. It will take some time for this team to find their feet, but when it does, the Fire will be a force to reckon with. Next match is sunday vs. Chivas USA at Toyota Park. The Fire will be without starting goalkeeper Sean Johnson as he has been called up to the U.S. National team for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The very capable second year man from Italy Paolo Tornaghi will get the start for the Fire in their second home game this season.

  • It was announced on Monday night that Booker T is the newest entry into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2013. Congrats to him for the much deserved honor. This is really a loaded class.
  • Bully Ray sparked some controversy on Thursday night in Chicago. After the Impact Wrestling TV taping a he was caught on a fan's cell phone video snapping on a fan calling him a "fag" and a "queer" in front of the fan's daughter numerous times. Dixie Carter has apologized for his outburst on Twitter, Bully though has half apologized.
  • Dave Bautista seems to be trying to follow in The Rock's footsteps. He was recently casted in the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy as Drax The Destroyer.
  • in the "who saw this one coming" department, former WWE Tag Team Champion Rob Conway won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship over the weekend. Yeah, can't make that one up.
  • Please tell me I'm not the one who found the story about Dana White getting an offer from Vince McMahon to a fight him at Wrestlemania XXVII hilarious?
  • This upcoming Saturday night, Jerry Lynn is retiring. His last match will be a tag match with Horce The Psychopath against Sean Waltman and J.B. Trask at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It's awesome to see a great wrestler get his due.

  • So apparently NBC doesn't have a sense of humor. NBC top execs seemed to have an issue with Jay Leno when he said "it's so bad, NBC called Manti Te'o and asked him to bring in some imaginary viewers." Be honest, wouldn't you rather have one of your own making fun of the network instead of everyone else?
  • Green Day revealed their new documentary Broadway Idiot, at SXSW on Friday night. Put that on my must see list.
  • Well Lindsay Lohan is locked up in a rehab for 90 days as a punishment for her misdemeanor car crash case. This just means TMZ is going to have to hope Amanda Bynes steps up for the next three months.

  • The Washington Capitals traded Kevin Marshall to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Nicolas Deschomps. (3/14/13)
  • The Ottawa Senators signed Troy Rutlowski to a three year contract. (3/14/13)

  • The Montreal Canadiens signed Francis Bouillon to a one year contract extension. (3/20/13)

Alright that's it for this week.

Next week we see how Blake and Joe are doing in the NCAA Tournament, we will have a review of a new Glee, Celebrity Apprentice and the first elimination from DWTS. Also we have a preview for the Dove Awards. All that and much more next week.

Till then, look out for the podcasts, spread the word about the Report and thank you so much for reading. Have a good week!
