Biebermania Hits Glee (2/15/11)

Okay well after last night's Glee I have mixed emotions. First of all, I still don't like Justin Bieber whatsoever. #2, the sight of Sue is Glee club was actually entertaining and bizzare at the same time. Finally, does anyone even know what a song anthem is? Though I know I'm not the only one who just felt really happy watching Will and Sue sing with cancer kids at the hospital. That moment was amazing. Overall this show can really never disappoint, and storyline wise it didn't at all, it actually feels like it's hitting it's stride as the 2nd half of the season picks up steam. The music this week was just weird. That being said, let's get right into it.

Sam-Baby
Um, what do I say about this? I actually liked this better than the original. My thing is that Bieber is 15, how does this song lead to massive sex appeal? That's just weird and creepy. B

The Justin Bieber Experience (Sam, Puck, Mike & Artie)-Somebody to Love
Did I really just type that? I can't make this stuff up at all. When Sam dressed like Bieber is was weird but at least it made sense because he's a blonde and whatnot. Seeing the rest of the guys do the same thing was just crazy. Overall good performance, but it comes back to that creepy sex appeal and seriously how can I seriously believe that good looking women can be THAT attracted to a 15 year old? B

Rachel and Mercades-Take Me or Leave Me
FINALLY a great performance on this night. This all the way around was entertaining and fantastic. This was a Sue-driven Diva-off to try to put a rif between the girls, well it did the opposite. They took one of the best written broadway songs in recent memory and brought major life to this show. A+

Lauren-I Know What Boys Like
Well, there are several ways to look at this performance. The singing was eh at best. The rocking out performance was awesome. The fact that we got to see New Directions in their underwear made everyone happy and gave a major distraction. B-

New Directions (with Sue)-Sing
Rachel was right at the end of the show, this song wasn't great. It was good. Adding Sue to the mix was great, and having her turn on Will, while predictable to most, and goto to coach Aural Intensity, ND's rival at Regionals, was also well done. The thing I liked about this performance was the fact that everyone matched and it felt like a choir. B+
