Glee: "I Was Born This Way" (4/26/11)

So this week was the longest episode of Glee. Kinda. The second half of the show felt like mostly commericals but hey they are becoming big enough to do that I guess.

This show was about liking who you are and being happy with how you were born. It's an easy concept but it's 2011 America it's a big deal. So to feel the point of the episode helps big time. Onto the music, there is alot...

Rachel and Quinn-Unpretty/I Feel Pretty
This was actually really enjoyable. I didn't expect the mash-up, but Glee always pulls off great ones. This just fit the show really well and was a great start to an emotional rollercoaster. A+

Finn (with Mike dancing)-It's Gotta Be Me
This song was surprisingly good. They both had alot of fun. Very good story and hit the point really well. A

The Warblers-Somewhere Only We Know
This was Blaine's way and saying goodbye to Kurt as he transfer back to McKinley and rejoined ND. It was really emotional and just really good. A+

Kurt-As If We Never Said Goodbye
Welcome back Kurt!! Not only did he finally get a legit solo, he nailed and welcomed himself back home. Well done and not even that over the top. A

Kurt and New Directions (plus some)-Barbara Streisand
As a dance performance this was alot of fun. Kurt singing the one line of the song was hysterical. The point of the performance worked for what it was for. But honestly, it just felt like wild filler. B

New Directions-Born This Way
Much like last season's Gaga performance of Poker Face, I liked this better than the original. During the whole song they were shirts that showed their flaws. I loved that idea. Overall I loved this performance and this group number actually made storyline sense. A+

That's another Glee down. Next week is a tribute show to Fleetwood Mac with all songs coming off their album Rumours. Hope this goes well.
