TNA Bound for Glory:Top 10 Worst Matches

With Bound for Glory right around the corner, today I will present, the Top 10 Worst Bound for Glory matches of all time. This is personal opinion and I am welcome to comments and discussion on the matter.

#10
2009

This match was just sad to be honest. I love Eric Young but not this one. There was an alright back story with the Main Event Mafia and World Elite, that really didn't make much sense in hindsight and the end of this one was just sloppy. Also this was the end of the Legends Championship in general.

2009

Honestly I just hated this match. It wasn't a "dream match", it was a match that obviously Joe didn't even want to be in. This is seriously just personal choice.

#8
2008

Need I explain this one? Just the name of the match is awful

#7
2007
Fight for the Right Reverse Battle Royal
Part 1: Lance Hoyt, Kaz, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, James Storm, Eric Young, Robert Roode and Junior Fatu eliminated Jimmy Rave, Havoc, Shark Boy, Petey Williams, Sonjay Dutt, Kip James, B.G. James and Chris Harris

Part 2: Robert Roode & Eric Young eliminated Alex Shelley (3), Lance Hoyt (4), Kaz (5), Chris Sabin (6), Junior Fatu (7) & James Storm (8)

Part 3: Eric Young (1) defeated Robert Roode (2)

This match is WAY too complicated. The first half was a REVERSE Battle Royal. Why does that match even exist? Then the 2nd part was a ranking system battle royal then it was Young-Roode in a one on one match that actually made sense because of their rivalry. I would not have a problem if the first part happened on Impact or just didn't happen at all. I like the fact that the Top 8 led to a ranking system but the way they got there was just stupid.

#6
2006
Kevin Nash Open Invitational X Division Gauntlet Battle Royal
Austin Star defeated Sonjay Dutt, Maverick Matt, Jay Lethal, A-1, Zach Gowen, Kazarian, Sirelda, Shark Boy, Alex Shelley, D-Ray 3000, Johnny Devine, Elix Skipper, Short Sleeve Sampson. Norman Smiley and Petey Williams

What do you get when Kevin Nash tries to help the X Division and throws a battle royal where the winner gets a bowling trophy? This crapfest.

Honestly I hated this storyline in general. The ECW guys shouldn't have been wrestling anymore. The fortune  guys didn't deserve to be in this match. Plus why is a steel cage on the Bound for Glory when they have a full PPV of steel cage matches? Just blah.

#4
2008
I'm not sure what's worse? The match or the fact that Steve "Mango" McMichael was the guest referee. The match was sloppy and just bad. I mean Abyss was lit on fire and it was almost like no one care. Mango was the worst ref in the history of wrestling. His slow counts made this match even harder to watch.

#3
2010
This match still annoys me. It's not even the fact that Jeff Hardy won and turned heel. I just thought this was a blah forgettable. It also doesn't help that no one remembers that match anyway. It's more remembered for the "10/10/10" reveal. I'm sorry but I HATED the Hogan/Bischoff turn and I was just never a fan of the Immortal storyline. It also didn't help that the whole thing didn't make any sense on the night in general.

#2
2005
Gauntlet for the Gold/NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Rhino defeated Abyss, Samoa Joe, Ron "The Truth" Killings, Sabu, Lance Hoyt, Jeff Hardy, Monty Brown, Kip James and AJ Styles

Rhino defeated Jeff Jarrett (c)
Special Guest Referee: Tito Ortiz

So let's see if looking back I get this right. Kevin Nash is supposed to get the title shot for whatever reason. He gets a staff infection in his leg so he has to withdraw from the match the night before the show. So the bright idea is to have a gauntlet match to determine the #1 contender and immediately have a match with Jeff Jarrett for the NWA Championship with for some reason Tito Ortiz as the ref. In the gauntlet you have guys who wrestled in matches throughout the night, except for some reason Kip James which made things really ugly because everyone was selling injuries and exhaustion from previous matches. So then Rhino wins and quickly wins the match against Jarrett. If none of that makes sense, welcome to TNA circa 2005.

 #1
2008
Steel Asylum Match
Jay Lethal defeated Sonjay Dutt, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Curry Man, Shark Boy, Super Eric, Petey Williams, Johnny Devine and Jimmy Rave

Why does this match exist? That stupid red cage still haunts me. So if you don't remember this match, and thank God if you do, the point was for the X Division guys to fights and climb up to a little hole on top of the cage where a ref just happens to be waiting. Just stupid all the way around.

That's that. Coming soon I will posting my list of the Top 10 BEST matches in Bound for Glory history. Ironically a list that harder to make than this one.

Entertainment Report-Issue #1 (Glee, DWTS, Idol, TMNT and more)

Entertainment Report
Issue #1
9/20-26/12

This week was the beginning of the fall season, kind of.

CBS ran a little behind because of Big Brother ending when it did (Yay Ian!) and it seems like NBC started airing The Voice earlier then anything else. But either way it's the new fall season.

Here's my issue. Maybe I'm just busy or getting older but not much this fall really caught my eyes or attention. I have no interest in X Factor, if The Voice was on a different night and didn't conflict with so many things on the DVR I would get into that. There are many shows that I just don't have interest in even getting into at all.

Right now the show schedule consists of Glee, Dancing with the Stars, Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly and maybe something else thrown in once in a while. With wrestling, football and just family time, those are all I seem to have time for right now. That doesn't mean I don't have opinions on other things as well though.

That all being said, let's get into this issue...

When the season started last week, I'll admit I was a little scared. The Graduation episode in May was emotional and we said goodbye to alot of the major characters. Now in a new time slot, I kinda feel like there was new life blown into the show. I love the fact that the storylines are split between Ohio & New York, it makes it more exciting to watch.

The positives are the Rachel/Kurt pairing, the addition of Marley and the fact that show just seems to be leaning on it's past to progress all the storylines. The negatives are the lack of Finn, Santana (Skype doesn't count) and other graduating seniors. Also I'm not a fan of Brody or Unique.

Best Song: Crazy/U Drive Me Crazy
Worst Song: 3
Best Cameo: Puck
Best Moment: Marley's reaction to Jake dating Kitty was a sad moment but so realistic.
Worst Moment: The whole Britney on stage lip syncing was to over the top even for her character.
Grade: B+ (Britney 2.0 > Britney)

With the Packers playing on Monday Night Football the game was on our ABC station here aired for the premiere episode didn't air till 1:30am. So I did get to watch before work on Tuesday morning. Well worth the wait, what a show.

First of all, I was just as surprised as everyone else that Tom Bergeron won the Emmy for reality host. He deserves it, just didn't expect it. So congrats to him!

Second, I personally love the new scoring system. The half a point score actually helps and makes it harder to get a perfect score.

Third, with all the talk about judges on other reality shows, it's good to know that after 15 seasons the judging table is exactly the same on DWTS. Very nice to see.

Finally, this is the all star season. It's really the only reason I'm watching. I'm looking forward to great dancing and awesome entertainment.

Monday
Best Couples: Emmit/Cheryl, Joey/Kym, Sabrina/Louis
Worst Couples: Pamela/Tristan, Kelly/Val, Bristol/Mark

Tuesday
Why is the results show two hours? I didn't even watch the whole show at all.

Bottom Two: Drew & Anna, Pamela & Tristan

Say what?? Why were Drew & Anna in the bottom two? At least Pam & Tristan went home. They don't belong on this show at all.

New Items

After 11 years and all the craziness I think I'm done. Heading into season 12 there are three new judges and they weren't even on the road for the auditions.

When J-Lo and Steven Tyler left, I knew it was going to be trouble. Then Mariah was named a judge ad I had issues with that. After Nicki Minaj was announced I was thoroughly annoyed. I have this extreme hatred for Nicki Minaj, matched only by my hate for Rhianna. At the point when Keith Urban was announced as judge #3, as much as I'm a country music fan, if I'm not going out of my way for Blake Shelton on The Voice, Urban won't bring me to watch Idol.

This year might be it for me. I can't believe that there will be a Carrie, Kelly, Daughtry or even a Phillip Phillips this year to draw me in,

This might change come January, but at the moment I think i'm skipping this season.

I'll keep this short and sweet. I DVRed the awards, watched the opening monologue, it sucked. I saw the first award and went to bed. When I got up and looked over the list of winners and there was only two awards for something I watched this past year:

Tom Bergeron-Dancing with the Stars-Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program
Glenn Weiss-65th Tony Awards-Outstanding Direction for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special

That's it.

I don't watch Modern Family, Game of Thrones, Homeland, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire or really anything else that won. It reminded me of the days when Frasier won every year and I never got into that show either.

I just wasn't into it at all this year.

Upcoming Shows
Real quick note, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes back on Saturday morning this week and CJ is super excited. Between this, Pound Puppies & Saturday Morning Slam, weekend programming has drastically changed around here.

Comic Book Men in a guilty pleasure for me. I'm a big Kevin Smith fan and since last season, I've gotten to know the Smod gang via podcasts. So I'm looking forward to the show's return on October 14th.

That's it for this week. I think I covered alot today. Come back next week for more of my thoughts on the wonderful and crazy entertainment world.

Not Another NHL Lockout!!!

After the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2004, there were rumblings of a lockout. The CBA would be expiring in September, but like the most fans after the playoffs, I need a break from the sport. So knowing that the World Cup of Hockey was being held that summer, after the draft I took a month off and didn't keep track of much.

Reality set in on September 14th, the last day of the World Cup Tournament. Canada won and the announcer said as they were signing off, "This might be the last we see of pro hockey for a long time." Those words hit my brain and I realized that the sport that had taken up most of my time and money for the last ten years could begone for a while.

As it turned out a NHL puck didn't touch the ice till October 5, 2005.

Fast forward to 2012. My little obsession of a sport has grown ten fold. NBC is now the the home of the NHL till past 2020. It's not embarrassing to be a fan anymore. The ratings are up, attendance is up. Life is good as a fan.

Or we thought....

In 10 days, the CBA signed back in 2005 expires. So now in one of the hottest times for the sport, it can go away again.

As a hockey fan in general, I'm not sitting here as pissed off because I do have the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals.

But as a die hard NHL fan, a Devils fan, I'm pissed at the NHL & NHLPA, everyone of them. I don't care what the reports say. I don't care "who's fault it is?" according to the media. It shouldn't have come down to this AGAIN.
The last lockout really tested the fans' loyalty and patience. But back then the fanbase wasn't that big. When the sport returned the action, there were sellouts across the board.

Now if there's another long lockout, all the hard work that the NHL did, NBC did and most important the fans did for this sport in this country to spread the game to the masses, will be all for not.

So to all the members of the board of the NHLPA, especially Mr. Bettman, get this mess figured out and do it fast.

Unlike in 2005, it might be as easy to rebuild again.

NFL Picks-Week 1

Here I am back for another year of NFL football. I'm still a very giddy Giants fan but as ready to start a new season.
