Entertainment Report Issue #12 (Glee, WWE, TNA, ROH, ACAs, Scotty McCreery and more...)

As the month of December slowly ticks away and tonight the country will salute the hurricane victims, welcome to this week's Entertainment Report. Before we get into a very jam packed issue, there's been alot of love going to us, especially on Twitter.

First off the Top 10 Podcasts of 2012 became the first entry to surpass 200 views since starting the Report. Thank you so much to everyone who read it. On Twitter this week I have to thank @MJCupach, @bigbrothrgossip, @ashes2ashes13, @travlord, @eastcoastcast, @BBGossip and @apartofhim for a the retweets and responds this week. While our Facebook page hasn't taken off yet, we are alive on Twitter and it's exciting to see.

That being said let's get into this week's issue...

I'm going to be honest, this issue went up early for one reason, I wanted to make sure it was up before the concert started so I could sit back and enjoy it. I hope everyone reading this does the same. It's going to be on amazing night.

This was an interesting show that really felt like two separate shows in one. It also felt like one show was based in reality while the other in fantasy world.

We start at McKinley, where we picked up right where we left off with Marley passing out. This lead to New Directions being disqualified and The Warblers winning Sectionals. This lead to what was one of the most real moments in the show, the reminder that they are indeed a high school club and their season was over. Sue in turn took over the choir room and the auditorium leaving ND without a homebase. The group quickly fell apart and scattered into different sports and groups. Brittany and Sam though found each other, singing Something Stupid, and the get together. Honestly I really liked everything about this. It's a reminder that you're not always going to win and yes in high school there are actual seasons and New Directions has been lucky to be able to stay running as long as they did because they kept winning.

Meanwhile in New York, Rachel got an invite to the Winter Showcase, something very rare for a freshman. Fine, I'll go with that. Besides that led to the awesome dance off between Cassandra and Rachel to All That Jazz. During all this Kurt trying to get a second audition with Carmen Tibideaux to get into NYADA but was shot down, which left him distressed. Then we get to the Winter Showcase and Rachel announced she was going to just sing for them and performed Being Good Isn't Good Enough and O Holy Night. Did she sound amazing? Yes of course she did. Did she deserve to win? Based on the story they were telling, especially in this episode, no she didn't. But this is the Glee fantasy world where Rachel can do no wrong, so of course she won. I'm sorry I can't go with that. It's not realistic and makes zero sense. She is a freshman in a tough performing arts school and she wins in her first competition? It actually makes me angry. Despite that, I am able to accept that Kurt got into NYADA after Carmen pulled him on stage by surprise and he performed Being Alive. It makes story sense and was his second chance! Plus I really enjoyed the performance, it's rare Kurt just sings his heart out.

This led to, for some reason, Rachel calling Finn to encourage him that the Glee Club wasn't dead. That whole phone call didn't make much sense, and almost looked like she was bragging, but it did inspire Finn to send out an email to reunite at a location that Marley found. This brought everyone back together for a snowglobey performance of Don't Dream It's Over.

Seriously they should have done the spinoff with Rachel and Kurt because their storyline doesn't belong on this show. I just doesn't fit the show. This would have been a perfect episode if they just stuck to the McKinley storyline. It's almost like they want to prove they could do better than Smash.

Next week is the final Glee of 2012, the annual Christmas episode. I look forward to that one every year.

Quick Thoughts:

So really not much happened. No title changes, no real surprises, no turns, nothing. Going into the new year, I'm not even sure what to look forward to, and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

It was a nice surprise to see Daniels beat AJ, that's about it for me. I really hope that leads to him getting a legit title shot against Jeff Hardy down the road.

Hoping things are better on Impact this week than on this show.

This PPV has always been an up and down show. This year the main event got changed because of CM Punk's injury, so this card feels very thrown together. Despite that it's a very good show.

Chairs Match

Alright here ya go. This is how I see this ending. Sheamus is going to beat the hell out of Show with chairs and after White Noise pin him.

Winner and New World Heavyweight Champion: Sheamus

Then as Sheamus is celebrating, Big Show will get up and hit the knockout punch and then Dolph Ziggler's music will hit and he will cash in MITB, hit the Zig Zag and...

Winner and New World Heavyweight Champion: Dolph Ziggler

This will lead to Dolph backstage bragging that he won the title and that means he doesn't have to fight Cena. Vince then tells him that the ladder is still in but for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Ladder Match

This match will be a war. The finish will come with Cena climbing the ladder and AJ coming out. AJ will get in the ring and Cena will be distracted, Dolph in turn will push the ladder and Cena will fall on the outside. Dolph will then climb the ladder and retain the title.

Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Dolph Ziggler

After the match AJ goes to check on Cena, helps him up but then slaps him. Then she turns around climbs into the ring and makes out with Dolph.

TLC Match

This match can only end by pinfall or submission. Honestly I don't expect Ryback to be pinned and hopefully they let Rollins & Ambrose do their thing. Shield has to win here, so Rollins will pin Bryan.

Winner: The Shield

Well this could go one of two ways. This could be Kofi's coming out party and he will beat Barrett or this could be Barrett's time to shine. That being said...

I'll be honest, if I didn't have to work on Sunday afternoon for the first half of this show, I would totally consider ordering the IPPV. This has to be one the most stacked cards ROH has put together in a long time. It's a very solid lineup, with most matches have been setup for close to a year, and the main event is actually close to three years in the making. All things being said, let's get into the card...

This is just exciting. The Wolves are back! Davey & Kyle have been feuding all year, especially since Best in the World, but have yet to actually have a match. I'm convinced Fish was added just to make this a tag match. Is there any doubt?

This is finally the explosion of the House of Truth. I'm not sure how Truth Martini is going to interfere but honestly I don't think it will matter...

I feel bad for Rhett Titus. Ever since Kenny King left he's been stuck I this feud, when he deserved to get a push, at least to the TV title. As for this match, it should be good.

I still don't fully get what the point if this match is, but on paper it should be fun. I don't see any way the result isn't...

I'm not sure why this match needs to happen but at least it could be quick and painless...

Jerry Lynn vs. Mike Bennett

This is Lynn's last match in ROH before his retirement in March. At least they have him a good opponent. It's a shame Jerry is retiring but this will give him a chance to leave ROH with class.

I actually forgot about this show till the weekend so I never got to make predications. That being said, I never expected the show to go the way it did.

The man of the night was by far Luke Bryan who took home nine awards, including Artist, Album, Single & Music Video of the year. Carrie Underwood (Female Artist & Single by a Vocal Collaboration with Brad Paisley), Lady Antebellum (Duo/Group Artist and Single), Miranda Lambert (Single and Music Video by a Female) and Hunter Hayes (Single and Music Video by a New Artist) won two awards each. Rounding out the award were Jake Owen (Breakthrough Artist), Lauren Alania (New Artist), Brantley Gilbert (Single by a Breakthrough Artist), Little Big Town (Music Video by a Duo/Group), Eric Church (Song of the Year) and Jason Aldean (Touring Artist).

On Monday WWE will have the annual Slammy Awards. Since there are no official nominations yet, I'm going to guess the winners based on how I think it will go.

12/7/12-Milwaukee at Rockford

You would think that if you have a two goal lead after two periods of play, you'd win. Not if you are the Admirals in 2012.

After being down 1-0 after 1, Michael Latta, Gabriel Bourque and Victor Bartley scored in the second period and the Ads went up 3-1. But in the 3rd they couldn't hold on to the lead. Nick Leddy, Ben Smith, Brandon Pirri and Martin St. Pierre all scored in the 3rd and the Icehogs took the game 4-2.

12/9/12-Milwaukee at Charlotte

In the first if two games vs. the Checkers in three days, the Ads won 5-2. Gabriel Bourque scored two goals and Michael Latta assisted on three. Magnus Hellberg continued his personal undefeated streak with 26 saves.

12/11/12-Milwaukee at Charlotte

The Ads just can't seem to get on a roll this season. Chris Mueller scored a rare power play goal early in the first then they just couldn't get any more offense going all night. Tim Wallace broke a 1-1 tie in the second and the Checkers held on to win 3-1.

This week is a busy one for the Ads. It starts with a three pack over the weekend, Friday night home against Rockford, Saturday night at Peoria and back home on Sunday afternoon against Hamilton. Then on Wednesday night, Rockford comes back to town.

For the second consecutive week one team started off the game on a 5-0 run. This time it was the Wave as they were able to solve the Rochester Lancers keeper with a three point strike from defender Josh Rife. Shortly there after a 2 pointer from veteran Marcello Fontana. Rochester were able to put themselves on the board when the teams leading goal scorer and the oldest player in the league at 43 Doug Miller finished one off on the powerplay as the wave had been sent to the box for too many men on the field. With minutes remaining Nick Perera hit a three point goal to put the wave up 8-2. Just 48 seconds later, Joe Hammes also finished from three point land. That brought the score to wave 11 Lancers 2. Goals from again Doug Miller and Brayton Knapp brought the lancers closer before Marcello Fontana, finished off his second goal of the evening to make the final score Wave 13 Lancers 6. Midway through the third, Rochesters Rey Martinez was issued a red card when he would not sit down for his time out in the penalty box. He also shared some unfriendly for kids language with the referee and official Rich Grady sent him for an early shower. Wave go to 3-2 and will face Chicago again Friday in Chicago.

Tribute to The Troops

WWE Tribute to The Troops airs on Wednesday night on USA in a two hour special and next Saturday on NBC in a one hour format. It's one of my personal favorite shows if the year.

Quick Hits

• This past week on Jay & Silent Bob Get Old, Kevin Smith announced that Hit Somebody, the hockey film that was meant to be his last before retirement, will now be a TV mini-series. I've been looking forward to this movie for over a year now so hopefully a station like AMC picks it up so I could see it first run.
• After the Hit Somebody news broke, Kevin took to Twitter and announced that Clerks III will be his final film, hoping to come out in 2014 around the 20th anniversary of Clerks. He then took to the podcast Hollywood Babble-On Supersized Annual #1 to explain the details. I'm still trying to process all this so I'm not sure how to feel about it yet.
• The NHL officially cancelled all 2012 games. Yeah that's all I got on that, I'm just so sick of this lockout at this point.
• In a surprising turn of events, Dave Hester of Storage Wars is suing A&E and Original Productions for wrongful termination. Yes Hester got fires by A&E! He accused them of committing fraud by staging storage lockers with interesting items to make for good TV. He is seeking $750,000 in damages, and now the show will be a little less fun without him.

Talk about a voice for Christmas music. It is almost impossible to not get lost in Scotty's voice. Someone his age should not be allowed to be this good. I mean he took classics like Jingle Bells and Holly Jolly Christmas and spun them to fit his voice. Normally I skip over slow songs, but when I hears Christmas in Heaven I was totally entranced. Simply fantastic.

Grade: A+
Favorite Song: Jingle Bells

This is the final album of their trilogy that came out the end of this year. As a continuation it's pretty good. It actually reminds me of a combo of Warning & American Idiot. If anything this album actually rolls smoother than the other two. To be honest it's harder to pick this album apart because it simply feels like a conclusion. Overall a good finish.

Entertainment Report Issue #11 (Glee, Comic Book Men, Lady Antebellum, End of the Year Polls and more)

Crazy how much changes in a week.

Now that the plugs are out of the way, let's take a look at the feedback bag. With the polls opening on Monday night there was alot of attention given to the Report on Twitter. Huge thank you to @travlord and the @eastcoastcast, @charliecress, @MJCupach of the @ftwpodcast, the @gleefullpodcast
and believe it or not @NatbyNature for retweeting the polls and posts. It was a huge surprise and made me truly understand the power of Twitter.

Alright, now that I got all that done, let's get into this issue...

What happened over the summer when they started filming this season? Did they finally realize that they had I pick up the pace and deliver great shows or they might get cancelled? If so keep it up! This was another jammed packed episode.

Before I get into the meat of the show, especially sectionals, I have to admit I really missed the original cast being together. Starting the show with Homeward Bound/Home was amazing and chilling. Plus seeing Britney/Santana/Quinn back together singing Come See About Me was great and was a great callback to season one. Also a good bitch fight between Santana & Quinn is ALWAYS good TV.

Now as much as I've been rating on the Marley story, I thought they did a good job pushing it into overdrive. Though I thought the ending was the "I'm so excited...I'm so scared!" moment in this show's history.

Also, I love Ryder & Jake as friends. They have this awesome bromance going on right now and it's actually refreshing. The two of them seem to actually care about each other now.

Before I get to sectionals, I have to mention the crap that was Let's Have A Tiki/Turkey Lurkey Time. What the hell was that? I felt like I was suddenly watching Sex in the City the musical. This was so bad. What's worse is that they jammed this between sectionals performances. It was a huge distraction and awful. The only good thing that came from this was the phone call between Kurt & Blaine. I thought that was extremely mature and makes me look forward to the Christmas show.

Now finally we get to sectionals. The Warblers were up first with Whistle and Live While We're Young. This was really good. I really shouldn't love when they perform as much as I do but they are so great I can't help it.

After a weird performance by the "other school who's there because we need a third school to lose at the end." We get to New Directions going Gangham Style.

I went in terrified of this performance. But I have to admit, oddly, I really enjoyed it. Tina even got the lead and Jake and Britney stole the show. Plus they actually found a way to Gleeinize Gangham Style. Seeing Marley pass out was a great and shocking way to end the show and at least we don't have to wait too long to see how the story continues.

Episode: Stan The Man

Do I even have to explain my excitement for this episode? Stan Lee was in the Stash! It was the only time this season where I wish the show was still a hour, just to see more Stan. At one point it actually really felt like Storytime with Stan. The man actually made the guys act like little kids.

Oh yeah there were a few other things on this show. A guy actually came in with a Walking Dead issue #1, but Walt didn't bite because of some damage. They did but a Hulk issue #6 and a bizarre Planet Comics #1, Canadian Edition, which actually ended up being a reprint of Planet Comics #62.

With that, the show, much like Walking Dead, went on a winter break. They will return on February 14th, in a new time slot, Thursdays at 9pm (8pm CT).

11/30/12-Chicago at Milwaukee

What a finish! There is no other way to describe that ending besides alot of cursing. I haven't jumped up and down for a goal like that since the double overtime win during the 2011 playoffs. Let's see if I could explain what went down.

The first two and a half periods was sluggish, almost boring hockey between the Ads and Wolves. That changed when Chicago's Darren Archibald scored a power play goal to break the 1-1 deadlock. This seemed to spark the Ads and all of a sudden they start to drive the net and finally get a good chances. Their hard work paid off when Gabriel Bourque knocked in a garbage rebound goal with 1:25 left on the clock. The Bradley Center exploded as we all got ready for overtime. They suddenly Chris Mueller shocked everyone when he shot the puck past Wolves goalie Matt Climie with 19.1 seconds left on the clock. That gave Milwaukee a stunning 3-2 victory, continuing their winning streak.

12/5/12-Texas at Milwaukee

The Ads' special teams blew another game for them. After taking a very early 1-0 with an Austin Watson goal, Milwaukee blew the lead at 13:35 of the 3rd when the Stars' Cody Eekin scored a power play goal. This game ended up going to overtime, and Texas won less then two minutes in when Colton Sceviour scored.

The Ads go back on the road this week. Friday they are heading out to Rockford and a pair of games in Charlotte Sunday afternoon and Tuesday night.

12/1/12-Chicago at Milwaukee

The Wave welcomed the newest club to the MISL the Chicago Soul last Saturday to the U.S. Cellular

Arena. Looking to get back on track after dropping 2 of their first 3 games, losing was not an option.

Although, Chicago was looking to play the upset card, and for the first half it looked as if they would be

able to pull off the difficult task of beating the Wave in their own building. A power play goal by Bato

Radoncic gave the soul a 2-0 lead late in the first quarter. Midway through the second quarter, Christian

Meza fired a laser beam past goal keeper Nick Vorberg for a 3 point goal and 5-0 lead. Shortly into the

third quarter an altercation occurred between the Wave’s Evan McNeley and Chicago’s Bato Radoncic.

Needless to say no matter what sport, there is always going to be bad blood between Milwaukee and

Chicago. As a result, McNeley received the straight red card, and was later issued an additional 2-game

suspension for his actions. Although McNeley was ejected from the game, his altercation provided the

spark that was needed to start the Wave’s comeback. Tom Oatley finished off the Wave’s first goal of

the evening beating Soul goalkeeper Jeff Richey who up to this point was outstanding between the pipes

for the new kids on the block. Coincidentally Radoncic received a yellow card good for a free ticket for 5

minutes in the penalty box. The call was for illegal substitution, as the injured player returned to the

field before the ball left the field of play. 3 Consecutive goals for the Wave gave them their first lead of

the night. Chicago would score midway through the 4th, to close within 1 point. Alas it was not enough

as the Wave finish off the Chicago Soul 14-9 to finish the week at 2-2. This Saturday the Wave face off

against the Rochester Lancers and MISL Player of the week Doug Miller at 3pm at the U.S. Cellular

Arena. Since there is no hockey, and basketball tickets are expensive, give indoor soccer a try. Its three

sports mixed in one, with constant action. Tickets are affordable, and it’s a great family atmosphere.

CM Punk has surgery, out of TLC

On Tuesday morning WWE Champion CM Punk had to have an emergency knee scope to trim a cartilage tear. So to make sure he is healed up for his WWE Championship match against The Rock at the Rumble, he has been pulled from the TLC PPV. In it's place is a TLC match between The Shield and Team Hell No and Ryback.

CM Punk surpassed John Cena's title reign

As of today, CM Punk is now at the 382nd day of his WWE Championship reign. This is officially the longest run of the last 25 years. It's just a great feat that can't be ignored.

TNA dropping PPVs in 2013

PW Torch is reporting that TNA will be dropping Against All Odds and No Surrender from their schedule, bringing their PPV total down to 10. This followed the surprising, but good announcement that Lockdown would be held in March instead of April.

During last week's Impact, TNA announced that their second biggest show of the year will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio on March 10, 2013. That's right, TNA booked the Alamodome FOR A SHOW. Yes I agree this is insane, even by their standards.

ROH's Mark Briscoe sold his teeth

Okay I can't make this up. Mark Briscoe legitimately sold his teeth on EBay. While the listing isn't up anymore, it was up to $110 when I last heard. I had to bring this up just because it's so ridiculous.

Maven's Tough Enough trophy gets sold

In a real life Storage Wars situation, co-Tough Enough winner Maven's championship trophy was sold at an auction for $600. It's a shame that Maven's life has gone so far down since his WWE release. Between the stints in rehab and now this, I hope he gets it together.

Ric Flair's wife files for divorce

In the "well duh" story of the week, TMZ reported that Jacqueline Flieher, Ric's fourth wife, filed for divorce. She claims he was unfaithful and he owes her $23,000 from a separation agreement in October.

Quick Hits

• Word is going around that the if there is not deal made by 12/15 that the NHL season will indeed be canceled. Hopefully that lights a fire under their asses.
• Another week, more details came out about the big 12/12/12 benefit concert. The lineup is now Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Masters, Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and Paul McCartney. The shows will be live on 34 stations, including CBS, HBO, VH1 Classic and various outlets around the world. I'm so excited about this show.
• This week tickets went on sale for a massive podcast event in Halifax, Nova Scotia called the Smorgy on January 26th & 27th to celebrate the Smodcast Network's 6th anniversary. It includes 12 shows which will somehow be available on ITunes the following week.
• It broke on EW.com, that Carrie Underwood got casted as Maria in the new adaptation of the Sound of Music on NBC next holiday season. I wasn't even aware they were even remaking Sound of Music, color me intrigued.
• Why does The Pope have a Twitter? That's a question I have never thought I had to ask.
• Broadway is reporting their best finical year ever in history. The box office numbers hit close to $1.14 billion. That's amazing and great to see as a fan of theater.
• Continuing the domination of the entertainment world, Disney signed an exclusive deal with Netflix starting in 2016.

As you might have noticed last week, I'm very picky when it comes to Christmas albums. Most artists don't take it serious, they just look at it as an opportunity to release another album. Then you have a rare treat, artists that take time to actually record a Christmas that is up to their standard. This is what Lady A pulled off here. As you listen, it actually feels like they are having fun. Even the slow songs, like The First NOEL and I'll Be Home For Christmas, are sung with amazing passion. Also they get bonus points got a very good original song, On This Winter's Night. This album is definitely going on my repeat list for this and future Christmas seasons.

Grade: A+

Entertainment Report Issue #10 (Glee, DWTS Finale, Comic Book Men, Phillip Phillips, Blake Shelton and more)

Welcome to the jam packed, action packed tenth issue of the Entertainment Report.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and for taking time out of your weekend to read the Report last week. As we head into the holiday season I continue to thank our constant supporters, @Mama_Mandabear, @ScottFellows23, @Travlord & @EastCoastCast. If you like what you are reading, please spread the word. That's how you close out a season. This might be one of the first times in a long time I wasn't bored during a big finale episode. The time flew by and was just alot of fun.

The first thing I will say is I loved all the video packages. It showed off how bizarre and fun this season was. My reports just haven't done this season justice. Those videos might have actually shown people who just tuned for the finale what they missed and made them wonder "why didn't I watch this?"

As for the rest of the show, there were alot of highlights.

I'll admit I didn't expect them to breakout Call Me Maybe and Gangham Style again. Since the finalists were busy working on their final dances, they were replaced in these numbers. Joey & Kym took over for Kelly & Val in Gangham Style and Drew & Anna and Helio & Chelsie replaced Shawn & Derek and Melissa & Tony in Call Me Maybe. It was alot of fun to watch again.

Joey & Kym stood out doing a crazy Back to the Future themed dance with "younger Joey & Kyms". Only they could have pulled that off like that. Drew though stole the show dancing with Anna and his daughter Isabella. It might have been one of the most real heartwarming moments in reality television in ages.

Now I was way too excited for Dance Center with Kenny Mayne, Jerry Rice and Len Goodman. They were part of the constant recaps of the season covering the hilarious lighter side. If you want to laugh, watch these segments, if only for Len's facial expressions alone.

Finally there was indeed still competitive dancing going on. At the beginning of the show the final couples picked their instant dances and music to perform to.

What a celebration! That was by far one of the biggest outpouring of emotions I've ever seen. There are no words to truly describe it.

That's it for the All-Star season. What a ride, what a season.

I'll admit it's strange to not air a Thanksgiving episode of Glee on Thanksgiving night, but I guess for story purposes, this works.

First off, let me say I loved the costumes in general. The concept was different and had me laughing. Also it makes sense for Glee to tackle the superhero craze right now. The references were hit and miss, even though Sam's Bane impression was awesome.

Onto the plots. First of all, I feel like the whole trophy being stolen thing was just an excuse to Blaine a story. I guess worked for the gimmick in the episode, plus it gave an excuse to have an awesome old school Warblers performance, Dark Side. But it just didn't work for me.

The story I loved was actually Ryder and Jake's. Finn, in his wonderful sweater vest, was trying to get the group to mesh together. (Great Avengers reference three by the way.) So he put the guys (and Marley & Kitty) together even though they don't get along. After they performed Superman, they got into a fight in the choir room (been awhile since that happened). After breaking them up, Finn got them to open up to each other. This all led to finding out that Ryder is dyslexic. I personally like the fact we get to see this develop.

Moving on, I still really hate the Kitty/Marley story. But since I ranted about that last week, I will say that as much as I hate it, I loved Holding Out For A Hero. It's rare that song comes up so it made me happy.

Now as much as I had a hard time enjoying the "Blaine might leave New Directions" storyline, because it just wasn't believable, I LOVED Sam & Blaine singing Heroes. If them being friends is going to lead to them doing duets like this more often, I'm all for it.

Finally the show ended on the stage with New Directions singing Some Nights and it finally felt like New Directions to me. From the voices meshing well to everyone having a spotlight to the matching red outfits. This was amazing.

Episode: Tough Sh*t

This week's show was actually a little dull in comparison to the way this season has been paced. The Stash hosted a massive Kevin Smith book signing, with Jay Mewes and Ming being security. It was fun but definately not a huge to do.

As for transactions, it was a good night. First there was a cool concept TMNT artwork for issue #1. Walt wouldn't bite on the high price that was requested. (I'm going to ignore the guy who walked in wearing the homemade latex Mechani-Kong costume, that was too weird for me.) The one thing that made the show for me was Walt reaction to Marvel World play set, it was also cool that Kevin bought it for him.

Next week is going to be fun, Stan Lee will be in the Stash!!

11/23/12-Milwaukee at Peoria

A new week of games and the Ads seem to just find new ways to lose. After coming back from being down 3-2 in the third, Mark Van Guilder and Austin Watson scored within 30 seconds of each other to give them a 4-3 lead. But Ian Cole scored with 41 seconds left for the Rivermen to tie the game. The game went to a shootout and Peoria won 2-0.

11/24/12-Milwaukee at Chicago

After 14 days, the Admirals finally won a game. Milwaukee's Austin Watson was by for the star of the evening. He tallied two goals and an assist, leading to a 4-3 shootout win over the Wolves.

11/25/12-Milwaukee at Grand Rapids

After a long road trip, the Ads won their second straight being the Griffins 3-2. This win also snapped Grand Rapids' eight games winning streak. Chris Mueller scored the game winner midway through the third period.

After two weeks, the Ads return home for two games. Friday night the Chicago Wolves return to town, and then Wednesday night they play the Texas Stars.

Quick Hits

• It's officially the video and song that never ends. Gangham Style became the most watched video in YouTube history. It surpassed Justin Bieber's Baby over the holiday weekend and continues to grow in views more than ever.
• Okay now I'm excited about Girl Meets World. Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are going to return to reprise their roles as Corey & Topanga! While I'm not completely thrilled this show is happening, this made me happy.
• This weeks' DWTS finale saw the end of the run of Maksim Chmerkovskiy in the ball room. There are now rumors that Derek Hough might be waking away as well. After so many seasons I'm not surprised, but it's sad to see them walk away.
• The NHL & NHLPA have agreed to meet with a federal mediation this week to try to settle the lockout. This is ugly and the longer this goes, the more fans are angry. At this point, get this over with or just cancel the season.

Coming off the unexpected success of Home, this album got moved up to the Christmas season instead of during Idol season. The one thing about Phillip is that he has a very unique voice and stands out. I respect the fact that this os not a typical Idol album. There is very little pop to the sound, to the point where when I heard Gone, Gone, Gone, I had to check to make sure that I was still listening to an Idol winner. I also appreciate that he doesn't try to sound exactly like Mumford & Sons. The best compliment I could give is this is a really good driving album, you know the kind of album that you can listen to straight through on a road trip. I could honestly see Drive Me becoming a huge hit. Overall this is one of the better non-country Idol albums of recent memory.

Grade: A-
Favorite Song (that is not Home): Drive Me

Normally I don't review Greatest Hits albums, but while the inclusion of A Moment Like This made me smile abs actually hearing Because of You without Reba was actually kind of weird, there is new music. First there's the catchy Catch My Breath, which is just a really good pop single that will be around for a long time. People Like Us, though, is more like an anthem. It's similar to My Life Would Suck Without You, as a song that can be rocked out to and just get you out a funk. Don't Rush is her latest dip into country music with Vince Gill. This is a really romantic song and just, plus you really don't hear Vince Gill much in the song. The new songs fit in really well with the rest of Kelly's amazing catalog.

Grade: A+
Favorite Song (of the new ones): People Like Us

With Blake's popularity right now, you knew this was coming. As much as I love him, I'm not really sure what I think about this album. I love his rendition of White Christmas and his duet with Miranda on Jingle Bell Rock, but other than that there's nothing overly memorable. Even getting Reba and Kelly Clarkson to sing on here doesn't work for me. It's too bad but I'll still watch the Christmas special.

Grade: C

Welcome to a very jam packed issue. It has turned out to be a very busy week so I'll keep this intro short.

Special thank you to the FTW Podcast for retweeting issue #2 and doubling my views. It was unexpected and I am very appreciative.

That being said let's get started...

Episode: The Break-Up
Best Song: Don't Speak
Worst Song: Give Your Heart A Break

Let me start by saying thank you to Ryan Murphy. I believe now. This was the most complete, emotionally driven, amazing episode in a long time, maybe ever.

I'm honestly not sure what was sadder, during Don't Speak, which will remain in my mind for years to come as one the most powerful group numbers ever performed (not on stage), Blaine crying his way through Teenage Dream, or Santana's heart stopping rendition of Mine. By the time The Scientist, I was spent.

They found a way to bring the new kids, especially Marley & Jake, into the fold in a unique way and got us to he point we needed to get to in the Brittana storyline.

Two personal notes. I really missed Finn. I know alot of people have a problem with him as a character & a singer but damn did he bring a breath of fresh air into the show. I know they promised certain characters at different times, but not having Finn on Glee is like not having JD on Scrubs, it doesn't work at all.

Also I thought it was fitting that the most mature breakup was actually Brittana. I hope they get back together down the road one day. They were so awesome together.

This show also put forth storylines, especially Will & Emma, going forward.

I just hate that we have to wait till after the World Series to continue the star.

At least they left us on an amazing note.

Wrestling News

Wrestling PPV Predictions
(Disclaimer: Picks are as of the day of this post, 10/11/12. If any matches get added or changed I will not becoming back to edit them.)

This is TNA's biggest PPV of the year and while it doesn't feel as special as it has in the past, it's still set up to be a very good card.

I've been torn on this match because I really like both of these men. But the more I think about it, Jeff Hardy has had the redemption storyline going for most of the year and I think he's earned his way back to the top. So...

Winner and new champion: Jeff Hardy

Am I the only one who doesn't care about King Mo in this match? It pretty much ruined it for me. I've been looking forward to this matchup since Lockdown and it's a year in the making. So that means we need a MMA fighter that no one cares about to be the ref? Blah.

As for the match itself, I really wanted a wrestling match instead of another hardcore match but oh well. This should be paint-by-numbers booking so...

Winner: James Storm

Can this be anymore obvious? Bully Ray is going to turn on Sting and be the A&8s insider. Then it will be revealed that Eric Bischoff is in charge and Garrett Bischoff and Matt Morgan are in the group.

Winner: Aces & Eights

This might actually be the most difficult match to predict on the card. You can honestly make a case for all three teams. I want AJ & Kurt to win but I think it makes more sense...

Student vs. teacher round two. If I had any belief this feud was continuing I wanted to pick Tara but I don't so...

Winner and still knockouts' champion: Miss Tessmacher

They foreshadowed this match before Joe won the belt so this works for me. Magnus stands no chance...

Does this match count as a gut check match? To it's credit, this match has been drawn out for months now and while I'm not as high on him as most people are, I have to say:

Thoughts

Well this is a good card on paper. But my thing is why are the Lethal/Richards and Cole/Edwards matches happening? I thought Matt Hardy was going to challenge for the TV title? Is Lethal turning heel? None of that makes sense at all.

Also, as much as I like Steen, it's time for a new champion. Elgin deserves it and this means he could break way from the House of Truth and maybe it would freshen the whole company up.

I will not be ordering the show, mainly cause I have no trust in ROH IPPVs whatsoever. I will be turning to ROH World on twitter for updates.

Brian Gewirtz out of WWE Creative

This is a major story in the wrestling industry. Brian Gewirtz has been the main main in creative for 15 years and suddenly, as Raw dropped to a 2.5 rating, Vince demoted him. Hopefully this will make Raw easier to watch, even though I their main problem is being a three hour show. It looks like Eric Pankowski has moved up the ranks. He is being credited for Saturday Morning Slam and WWE Main Event while it has added more WWE TV, if Main Event is evident of his writing style I'm intrigued.

Jim Cornette out of ROH Creative

This, in my opinion, is great news. I think Cornette has been a cancer in ROH. Other than the house show I went to, it has been hard to follow ROH storylines. There are too many logic holes, it makes TNA's booking a few years ago look good. Hunter Johnston, aka Delirious, is taking over. Hopefully things get better.

CM Punk punches a fan at the end of Raw

Seriously what the hell as Punk thinking? If you didn't see the end of Raw, the main event was Vince McMahon vs. CM Punk. The two of them got into a knedo stick fight, Ryback and Cena came down to confront Punk and then Punk out of the way. Well security didn't get to Punk in time and the fans started pestering him, hitting him and pushing him. Then Punk hit a random guy n the head and then then palm hit him. I'm sorry I know Punk was being abused by the fans, but there is no reason to hit a fan ever. The fan is now suing.

Music Reviews

Really enjoyable. Problem with this album is that it's the first since the American Idol themed rock operas. I know it's not fair but it's a very high bar that is set after those. Also this is the first of three albums in a six month span. I will say I really enjoyed this album as a whole, and it kinda just flies by which is a high compliment. For me it's like they crossed what was successful in American Idiot & Dookie and gave it to us here. Some songs are repetitive but would be great concert songs.

TV News

What the hell happened? That's the only thing I could say. This week the celebrities got to make the dances and play director. This led to a very fun, interesting night, that involved flying, wigs, stage diving and a scared donkey. That being it was a really good show on Monday night.

Worst Performances: Bristol/Mark, Kristie/Maksim

I still want to know what Emmit was going to do with the donkey. Now this was a double elimination week so that means we lost two couples.

Where did that come from? Two former champions knocked out on the same night? Stunning to say the least.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to plug Comic Book Men, this Sunday night at 11:30pm (10:30pm CT), after the Walking/Talking Dead on AMC. For some reason this is being ignored by other entertainment sites. This show based in Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank, NJ is one of the funniest shows that you aren't watching. Plus, despite the title, you don't have to be a comic book nerd to enjoy it. Also it's only a half hour, so pop it on your DVR and enjoy it.

Sports News

Today should have been the first day of the 2012-2013 NHL season. You know if there wasn't a lockout. Not only is the lockout still going on but the NHL and NHLPA are having meetings and ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING!!!!! It makes me sick to know that after all the positives since the last lockout it's all being buried again. If you want to hear my rant about this, go here.

Quick Hits

• I know it's sounds weird but hearing Liam Neeson curse on Sportscenter made me laugh, if only because of Mike Hill's reaction alone.
• Why is everyone so shocked that Sam Champion is gay? I honestly didn't look at it like it was a big deal at all.
• Mariah Carey got extra security to protect her because Nicki Minaj threatened to kill her. And this is still a good idea FOX? Is the minor ratings boost really worth ruining the creditably of your biggest show?
• ESPN is going to stream KHL games on the web and on ESPN2 during the lockout. That is almost like a fuck you to the NHL since the relationship between Disney and the NHL has been very strained since the last lockout in 05.
• Apparently Tammy Sytch, aka Sunny, decided to this month was a good time to do her Amanda Bynes impression. She has been arrested for various reason over the last month five times, including twice in 24 hours earlier this week. This is getting insane, just keep her in jail at this point.
• This is the only thing I'm saying about the Hogan sex tape. Nothing. Moving on.

Podcast Plug

With Glee going off for over a month due to baseball, and you are a gleek, I suggest getting your fix by listening to this show. The hosts Josh, Jen & Ed are not just uber-fans where the show can do no wrong. they are very honest and opinionated and even take phone calls from fans. Definitely a fun listen, especially if you are a true Gleek.
