Devils Hockey:Is It Time to Panic?

"Devils limited to 15 skaters today because of cap issues. Welcome to the Kovalchuk era!!"-10/11/10 EJHradek_ESPN

"Whatever his reason, John MacLean has put himself square on the spot by benching his best scorer and then losing 6-1 and an irrelevant goal."-10/23/10 StanFischler

"In my defense on NJ tonight, I didn't expect Kovalchuk to be a "healthy scratch" or the franchise to have a meltdown. WOW!"-10/23/10 EJHradek_ESPN

I thought this was supossed to be a new era? I thought the signing of Kovalchuk was supossed to make  this team upstoppable scoring machine? Where's the defense that the Devils were founded on? Is this a rebuild season and no one told the fans?

Now as the month of November starts, the Devils are in the basement. This is the worse hockey I've seen this team play since I became a fan in 1994. Every night when there's a game, I just hope they are going to stop the bleeding. Then suddenly they are losing 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 and it's another loss in the standings.

This might just be the worse month since the 80s for this franchise. So who's the blame? John MacLean? I can't blame him, he's in a fucked up situation right now. Marty Brodeur? He's doing all he can to keep the Devils in games every night. Lou? Well part of the blame can be put on him, but he's doing what he has to do to keep this franchise together.

How bout the $100 million man Kovi? He hasn't done anything in the last four games when they needed him. How about the franchise leading scorer Elias? He has does nothing all season. The young defense? They are kids playing against the NHL elite, you can't blame the other teams for taking advantage of that.

I am speechless for how bad this team looks right now, is it time to hit the panic button?

As of right now, YES. Because if they don't write the ship, The Rock will be dark in April and May.

Dancing with the Stars The 200th Episode

And now the special 200th episode of Dancing with the Stars...

This was a fun night, short and sweet. It was awesome to see all the celebrities from the past return, even if I didn't watch alot of these seasons. This week I'm actually going to go into more details on the celebrities and dances and my opinions. The team dances will be listed like every other dance over the last couple of weeks, it's just easier that way.

(Guest Team Captain (Team list) Team Score My Rating (out of 5))

Kristi Yamaguchi 24 ****1/2
Rick/Cheryl, Kyle/Lacey, Bristol/Mark

Apolo Anoto Ono 27 *****
Kurt/Anna, Brandy/Maksim, Jennifer/Derek

Kyle and Lacey (35/24=59) ****1/2
Guest Judge:Mel B
Kyle has come a long way. He really could win this thing. This was his best performance of the season by far. Amazing simply amazing.

Kurt and Anna (34/27=61) ***1/2
Guest Judge:Emmit Smith
At times Kurt could be a fantastic dancer, other times he's just flat of sloppy. The facts are he earned his way here. This dance proved why. Well done.

Bristol and Mark (33/24=57) ***1/2
Guest Judge:Kelly Osbourne
Wow, if you told me a month ago that Bristol Palin would still be here, I would have thought you were crazy. She has actually earned her right to be here and while she has no chance in hell of winning, it's been a great ride. This week's dance showed how much she's improved.

Rick and Cheryl (37/24=61) ****
Guest Judge:Helio Castroneves
For me this was going to be one of the hardest dances to pull off because of Rick's size, but damn he did amazing. FINALLY SOME REAL PERSONALITY! That's what was missing this whole season. He needs to show that more, he might actually have a chance at being in the final.

Brandy and Maksim (37/27=64) *****
Guest Judge:Gilles Marini
The leader from the last two weeks. I knew Brandy would be good on this show but I didn't expect this good. She can very easily win this show. Tonight's dance might not have been perfect but it showed that she has earned her way here.

Jennifer and Derek (37/27=64) *****
Guest Judge:Drew Lachey
This was amazing. Jennifer belongs here, the only thing that is going to stop her from getting to the final is her body falling apart. She's amazing and is right now my pick to win this show.

Pick to Go Home:Bristol/Mark

The Rocky Horror Glee Show (10/26/10)

Well that was a crazy show. for me in a good way. Just want to address a few things before I get into the performances. First of all, this was the correct way to do a theme night. This show was either going to be really good or really bad. There wasn't going to be an inbetween. This was a tricky show to do correctly. Alot of the songs are well extremely dirty for broadcast television in 2010 so to get past them was going to be difficult. Also there's the Rocky Horror die hards who hate when ANYONE touch-a touch-a touch-a's their favorite show. The one thing that stood out is that it was entirely storyline driven and it also, for I think the first time, addresses guys having issues with their bodies and looks. Finally, even if you didn't like the songs or the show, there was ALOT of eye candy throughout the show for both guys and gals. This was not your typical family friendly Glee, but I think people forget, this is FOX.

Science Ficton, Double Feature
This song is credited on the album to Santana, but on the show it sounded alot like Quinn to me. No matter, this felt like a disclaimer to me. For parents who grew up with Rocky Horror, here's your sign to what we are doing tonight. The lips and all. I did love the credits though, very cool and it fit the evening. There was no hiding what was going on, just straight up, here's what's going on tonight, sit back and enjoy the ride. B

Rachel and Finn-There's A Light (Over at Frankenstein Place)
It's a shame they didn't show more of this song on the show, but damn what a setup for the night. They haven't an opening like this in a while where they cut right in the middle of the action and then Will sets up a flashback to catch us up. They did that ALOT in season one and I really liked that. It was also a good way to setup what Carl has to do with this episode at all. Right off the bat there are questions, we want answers, suddenly it's no longer about Rocky Horror, it's about the show, as it should be. B+

Finn and Rachel-Damnit Janet!
When I was listening to the soundtrack, this song had Finn and Rachel written all over it. I thought they NAILED it. Perfect singing and mannerisms and the background dancing and singing of Quinn, Kurt and Mercedes were also dead on. A

Carl-Hot Patootie (Bless My Soul)
I don't care what this song is called on the Glee youtube page and on EW's review, this is called Hot Patootie, look at the Rocky Horror soundtrack. Onto the song itself. Ladies and gentlemen, let's officially welcome John Stamos to the wonderful world of Glee. This performance kicked major ass. It was great to have him help out with the show by trying out for the role of Eddie and broke into the best rendition of this song I have ever heard. This blew Meatloaf's original out of the water. On a side note, as a Full House fan, it was awesome to see Stamos sing something that wasn't Elvis or the Beach Boys for the first time ever. A+

Mercedes-Sweet Transvestite
What can she not sing amazingly? It was a major risk to actually have a girl play Frankenfurter, it's never been done. This might have been a couple of reasons, #1 they needed to find a place for Amber to shine in the show, not just doing background vocals and #2 no guy can really do Tim Curry justice. So you have this version where Amber looked amazingly hot and she blew me away with her take on the song. It was different and something that would only happen on this show. A+

Emma-Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch-A Me
This was the song that most worried me. It's such a blantly dirty song. There were some clever and not so clever rewrites in the song, but they had to be done to make this song clean enough for the time slot. That aside, WOW. What a performance. First of all, why doesn't she sing more? She has an amazing voice. Second, and this is for my wife, Matthew Morrison shirtless in a tie I think made every girl watching this show want some action themselves. Also having Santana and Britney outside the window just added to the performance. Very well done. A

New Directions-Time Warp
You couldn't do a Rocky Horror episode without the show's biggest song. This was fantastic, dead on and a perfect ending to a crazy hour of television. A+

I will close this out with two hilight lines from last night's show:

“Halloween is fast approaching: The day when parents encourage little boys to dress like little girls and little girls to dress like whores.”-Sue

“I have no idea what’s going on in this script and it’s not in a cool, Inception-kind-of-way.”-Finn (for Mandy)

Dancing with the Stars:ROCK ON! (10/25/10)

It was hyped for weeks. The ballroom was redesigned again. There was pyro and fire and crazy guitar riffs. It was Rock Night on Dancing With Stars. It was a crazy night. Along with the solo performances there was a massive rock danceathon. So let me get into the results. One little note, I didn't agree with the judges throughout the night at all when it came to scores.
