The Rocky Horror Glee Show (10/26/10)

Well that was a crazy show. for me in a good way. Just want to address a few things before I get into the performances. First of all, this was the correct way to do a theme night. This show was either going to be really good or really bad. There wasn't going to be an inbetween. This was a tricky show to do correctly. Alot of the songs are well extremely dirty for broadcast television in 2010 so to get past them was going to be difficult. Also there's the Rocky Horror die hards who hate when ANYONE touch-a touch-a touch-a's their favorite show. The one thing that stood out is that it was entirely storyline driven and it also, for I think the first time, addresses guys having issues with their bodies and looks. Finally, even if you didn't like the songs or the show, there was ALOT of eye candy throughout the show for both guys and gals. This was not your typical family friendly Glee, but I think people forget, this is FOX.

Science Ficton, Double Feature
This song is credited on the album to Santana, but on the show it sounded alot like Quinn to me. No matter, this felt like a disclaimer to me. For parents who grew up with Rocky Horror, here's your sign to what we are doing tonight. The lips and all. I did love the credits though, very cool and it fit the evening. There was no hiding what was going on, just straight up, here's what's going on tonight, sit back and enjoy the ride. B

Rachel and Finn-There's A Light (Over at Frankenstein Place)
It's a shame they didn't show more of this song on the show, but damn what a setup for the night. They haven't an opening like this in a while where they cut right in the middle of the action and then Will sets up a flashback to catch us up. They did that ALOT in season one and I really liked that. It was also a good way to setup what Carl has to do with this episode at all. Right off the bat there are questions, we want answers, suddenly it's no longer about Rocky Horror, it's about the show, as it should be. B+

Finn and Rachel-Damnit Janet!
When I was listening to the soundtrack, this song had Finn and Rachel written all over it. I thought they NAILED it. Perfect singing and mannerisms and the background dancing and singing of Quinn, Kurt and Mercedes were also dead on. A

Carl-Hot Patootie (Bless My Soul)
I don't care what this song is called on the Glee youtube page and on EW's review, this is called Hot Patootie, look at the Rocky Horror soundtrack. Onto the song itself. Ladies and gentlemen, let's officially welcome John Stamos to the wonderful world of Glee. This performance kicked major ass. It was great to have him help out with the show by trying out for the role of Eddie and broke into the best rendition of this song I have ever heard. This blew Meatloaf's original out of the water. On a side note, as a Full House fan, it was awesome to see Stamos sing something that wasn't Elvis or the Beach Boys for the first time ever. A+

Mercedes-Sweet Transvestite
What can she not sing amazingly? It was a major risk to actually have a girl play Frankenfurter, it's never been done. This might have been a couple of reasons, #1 they needed to find a place for Amber to shine in the show, not just doing background vocals and #2 no guy can really do Tim Curry justice. So you have this version where Amber looked amazingly hot and she blew me away with her take on the song. It was different and something that would only happen on this show. A+

Emma-Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch-A Me
This was the song that most worried me. It's such a blantly dirty song. There were some clever and not so clever rewrites in the song, but they had to be done to make this song clean enough for the time slot. That aside, WOW. What a performance. First of all, why doesn't she sing more? She has an amazing voice. Second, and this is for my wife, Matthew Morrison shirtless in a tie I think made every girl watching this show want some action themselves. Also having Santana and Britney outside the window just added to the performance. Very well done. A

New Directions-Time Warp
You couldn't do a Rocky Horror episode without the show's biggest song. This was fantastic, dead on and a perfect ending to a crazy hour of television. A+

I will close this out with two hilight lines from last night's show:

“Halloween is fast approaching: The day when parents encourage little boys to dress like little girls and little girls to dress like whores.”-Sue

“I have no idea what’s going on in this script and it’s not in a cool, Inception-kind-of-way.”-Finn (for Mandy)

Dancing with the Stars:ROCK ON! (10/25/10)

It was hyped for weeks. The ballroom was redesigned again. There was pyro and fire and crazy guitar riffs. It was Rock Night on Dancing With Stars. It was a crazy night. Along with the solo performances there was a massive rock danceathon. So let me get into the results. One little note, I didn't agree with the judges throughout the night at all when it came to scores.
(Couple Song  (Judge's Score/Danceathon Score *Total Score*) My Star Rating out of 5)

Sports Memories (Special 100th Blog Edition)

October 9, 2010
Mandy and me at the
Milwaukee Admirals-Abbotford Heat
regular season game

September 1996
Gary, me and Dad going to
the New Jersey Devils-
New York Rangers
preseason game
Welcome to the 100th blog entry of Thoughts of the Common Viewer. I figured to celebrate the occasion I'd do something special. Today I will be going through sports moments and memories. I have made a list of the best, worst and most bizzaree things I'm experienced, seen or just been involved in over the years since 1993 when I went to my first hockey game, New Jersey Devils vs. Hartford Whalers, to 2010, my most recent game, Milwaukee Admirals vs. Abbotsford Heat. So sit back and enjoy and you are welcome to post comments about your moments, I would love to hear them. (The only two rules I applied to this list were: #1 sports entertainment doesn't count, so no wrestling events, and #2 I would have had to actually had been at the game, whether it be as a fan or an employee.)

Top 10 Best Moments
#10
September 23, 2001
Score: New York Giants 13-Kansas City Chiefs 3
Moment: First Game at Giants Stadium after 9/11

After 9/11, as everyone knows the New York area was more united than anything I had ever seen or experienced before. When Grandpa told me that he was able to get two tickets to goto the Giants/Chiefs game, the first game played in the New York area after 9/11, I was not going to pass that up. What I didn't know till I got there was that the seats were an handicapped box because Grandpa was in a wheelchair, very close to field level. The atmosphere was something I never experienced before and probably never, and hopefully, never will again. The pre-game ceremonies were the story. I had never seen that many army, navy and ma
rine soldiers on a field at once. The real moment came when they brought out firefighters and police officers to hold the flag while the Harlem Boys Choir sang the National Anthem. EVERYONE was standing, even Grandpa, and singing and alot of people were crying. It was something I'll never forget, especially since this was the last football game I ever went to with Grandpa.

Moment: New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup Celebration

This might have been one of the hottest days I've ever experienced. Yes it was in a parking lot. Yes it wasn't a parade. But it was a load of hardcore heavy-duty Devils fans sweating in 100 heat celebrating a Stanley Cup for the third time. I was with Sara for this and she really wanted to kill me for dragging her out there for this long afternoon. When the team and Cup finally came out it was worth it and turned out to be a extremely fun afternoon.

Score:New Jersey Devils 5-Boston Bruins 4 (OT)
Moment:Final Game of the Millennium
Normally regular season games, especially ones in December, don't normally stick out as a big deal. This game has been in my head for 11 years now. This was one of the best hockey games I'd ever seen. The score says it all. I was at the Continental Airlines that night with Gary, Nadine and Bernadette. The game was culminated with a classic highlight cris-cross goal from Patrik Elias to Petr Sykora, it was the goal that truly gave birth the A Line.

Score:New Jersey Devils 5-Toronto Maple Leafs 1
Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 7
I've heard for years that there is NOTHING like a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Well me and Gary were given a chance to discover that when his mom got him two free tickets to see the Devils and the Leafs in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi Finals. We went to the game and the intensity was unreal. Especially when the Devils were trailing 1-0. But as much tension as there was in the building when the game started that's how celebration there was when it was over the Devils advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second year in a row winning 5-1.

Moment: New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup Celebration

http://devilsweapon.tripod.com/

On a cool night in East Rutherford, there were fireworks, confetti, screaming fans and more importantly, the Stanley Cup. For Gary & I this night was in the middle of the craziest and best week of our lives so far. On this night we celebrated a hard-fought for Stanley Cup, a Cup won on Gary's birthday. It was an amazing night.

Score: New York Jets 40-Miami Dolphins 37 (OT)
Moment: Monday Night Miracle at the Meadowlands

When I worked Giants Stadium during the 2000 NFL season, I saw alot of crazy moments and alot great games, especially since I was an usher. This night was something different. The Dolphins had taken a 30-7 lead going into the 4th quarter. It was so bad that Jets fans started to have dueling "Let's Go Yankees"/"Let's Go Mets" chants during the 3rd to entertain themselves. (This was during the Subway World Series.) After the 3rd most fans were leaving to try to beat traffic. Just then at the start of the fourth Vinny Testverade threw a touchdown pass to start the fourth. Right then you can feel the ground in the stadium start to shake with all the fans turning around to get back to their seats. The Jets were alive and started one of the biggest comebacks in NFL history. They went to overtime because of a touchdown from Jumbo Elliot at the end of regulation and finally completed the comeback with a field goal in overtime. The game ended at 1:15am, but the party continued in the parking lot till the sun came up. While I'm not a Jets fan by any means, I was rooting them on this night, which also led to me gets hugs from complete strangers in my section because they were celebrating.

Score: New Jersey Nets 103-Charlotte Hornets 95
Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 5

Didn't expect an NBA game did ya? Well when the Nets were on fire in 2002, me and Gary made a decision to goto a Nets playoff game while we had the chance, because it might never happen again in our lifetimes. I got us tickets to this game and it was an amazing experience. The pictures I took were very shaky and blurry because it was hard to keep my body still because the ground from shaking from the crowd noise. It was so loud that you couldn't hear the music or announcements for the entire 4th quarter. This was something I will never forget, even though I am not much of a basketball fan.

Score: USA 9-Sloviaka 3
World Cup of Hockey

At the time I really don't think I was old enough to truly understand the impact of that night or even that time period of international hockey. Now 14 years later I can fully understand what I was apart of. In 1996, the Canada Cup was renamed and relauched as the World Cup of Hockey, a major international tournament that happened during the summer and ended right before the NHL regular season began. I was still in my infancy of being a hockey fan at the time, so when I was really only half watching the tournament. That was until August 31st when the house phone rang and it was for me. The voice on the other end was Team USA captain Brian Leetch. Being starstuck and left without words, I kindly listened and he explained that I had won two tickets to USA-Sloviaka game at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night from the New York Post and then he congratulated me, I wished him good luck in the tournament and he told me that my tickets would be at the Will Call window waiting for me. I was so confused when I hung up. I soon found out that Uncle Bruce put my name in for tickets on a whim, and I just so happen to win. My dad didn't want to go into the city on a weeknight, so his ticket went to his co-worker James. This was the one and only time that me and him ever agreed on a game. Me wearing a Devils shirt and him wearing a Rangers shirt, we watched as Team USA dominated Sloviaka 9-3, with nine different USA players scoring goals. While this might not have been the best game in the world, the experience of hockey at the Garden and the fact that it was the first ever World Cup of Hockey made it extremely memorable.

Score: New Jersey Devils 5-Montreal Canadiens 2
Moment: Martin Brodeur Scores a Goal

What do I say about this moment? With a 4-2 lead in Game 1 of the quarterfinals, there isn't much else to really cheer for. The net was empty and our section was getting ready to go home when the buzzer sounded. The last thing any of us expected was Marty to pick up the puck and shoot it down the ice and in the net for a goal. Well that's exactly what happened. The place was so electric after that goal, I was one of the many people running up and down our section, 217, in shock and excitement high fived and hugging strangers. It was amazing. Simply one of the most unreal hockey moments I've ever experienced.

Score: New York Giants 41-Minnesota Vikings 0
NFC Championship Game

When I took the job at the Meadowlands the summer of 2000, I needed a job. I knew that I would get to see alot of football games and a bunch of concerts, work them and make money having fun. What I didn't expect was the football season that my Giants had. I didn't expect that I would be working the 2001 NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME between the Giants and the Vikings. For months my bosses told us to stay neutral. On this afternoon they knew that alot of were Giants fans and had been waiting a long time for this moment and they knew we weren't going to stay neutral. This game was unreal. The score actually says it all to honest. I got work field level as my team went to the Super Bowl. I actually think for most of the fourth quarter I stopped working and was just a fan because of the moment at hand. That afternoon I also snuck in a throwaway camera so I could document the event, I knew that I would never have the oppurtunity to be at a game like this, and even if I did it would be a long time till it happened again.

Top 3 Worst Moments
(Originally I was going to make this a Top 5, but due to the lack of losses and heart-breaking defeats that I've seen, it's become a top 3)

December 18, 1998
Score: Calgary Flames 5-New Jersey Devils 2
Looking back at this game, I went in thinking there was no stopping the Devils. They were on fire, I hadn't witnessed a regular season loss yet. Me and Gary went on this night to see Devils beat Theo Fleury of the Flames and I was meeting up with some friends from the New Jersey Devils mailing list. Well the score says it all, the Devs got steamrolled and that night I witnessed my first regular season defeat, there weren't many, but this was the first.

#2
February-March 2001
XFL Regular Season
This might have been the worst idea in the history of sports. To make football fans happy and give them something to watch in the off season, let's play football in the dead of winter, AT NIGHT. I worked a bunch of these games. No one showed up to the games unless the tickets were given away. Not one thing about experience was good. The football games were terrible, the players were bad and overall the environment left a lot to be desired. I'm so happy it only lasted one season. This was an epic fail before that was cool to say.

May 11, 1997
Score: New York Rangers 2-New Jersey Devils 1 (OT)
Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 5
This might be the one game that I want to completely erase from my memory banks. This was a heart-breaker beyond heart-breakers for me. (Not as bad 1994 but I wasn't there to witness that.) The Devils needed this game to stay alive in the playoffs that year, the game had come to a stalemate and I got to experience playoff overtime hockey for the first time in my life. Before the overtime period, during the intermission, you could have heard a pin drop in the CAA. No one was talking, chanting, even moving. I don't even think anyone went to use the restrooms or have a smoke. It was tense and not in a good way. Adam Graves scored the wraparound goal in overtime (so similar to the 1994 Matteau goal it was scary) and they sent the fans home wanting to kill themselves and the Devils off to the golf courses.

Top 5 Most Bizzare Moments

#5
September 3, 2000
Score: New York Giants 21-Arizona Cardinals 16
Moment: Lightning hits Giants Stadium, scares Ron Dayne
This might have been one of the bizzare ways to start a season. During the first half a massive storm started, but it was just rain so it didn't really bother anyone, after all it is football. Then near the end of the 2nd, thunder started to sound and fans started to run into the corridor then lightning hit the scoreboard behind the Giants endzone. The stirke scared Ron Dayne so much that he literally jumped up in the air and ran, like a cartoon character, into the locker room as they started halftime early. Hysterical moment to be honest.

#4
April 17, 1997
Score: New Jersey Devils 5-Montreal Canadiens 2
Moment: Devils fan throws a pig head on the ice
In 1996 during the playoffs Panther fans threw rats onto the ice after every goal, it became a fiasco leading to new rules getting put into place. Well that wasn't until the 97-98 season. After the first goal of the Devils/Habs game, some random Devils threw a REAL pig head onto the ice in celebration. It was a moment that would have been the most talked about part of the game, if Marty didn't score a goal in this game as well.

#3
March 5, 2010
Score: Lake Erie Monsters 3-Milwaukee Admirals 2 (SO)
Moment: Yo Gamma Gamma Performs
The fact that the kids phenomeon was at an Admirals was freaky enough but their performance during the 2nd intermission might be the strangest intermission entertainment I've ever seen.

Score: Pittsburgh Steelers 20-New York Jets 3
Moment: Jets fans pelt Steelers fan with beer bottles
It's a blustery cold Sunday night in the upper decks of Giants Stadium, sounds like any other night game right? Well this was a stadium of really drunk young Jets who were watching the Steelers ruin their undefeated start. Well right in the sea of green, there was one lonely Steelers fan standing up and cheering away. Suddenly he got hit with an empty beer bottle. Nothing major you would think except that he just got louder and all of a sudden it was like a light went off and there were empty and semi-empty beer bottles flying from all directions, from as far as three sections either direction including downstairs. I remember security came up to me and said "Who hit him?" and I turned around pointed everywhere "Them!"

Score: New Jersey Devils 4-Phoenix Coyotes 3
Moment: Blake vs. Drunk Islanders Fan
Yes you read that right. After a little cared about Devils/Coyotes game a drunk fan got in my face on way down the section me, Nadine and Julie were sitting in screaming on how the Devils sucked. I then pushed him down the stairs from behind and that was enough for him to literally sprint up the stairs and take me down over the row I was standing in and we got into a fist fight. It was so rough for security to break us up. We were "banned from the CAA" after that fight. One thing I forgot was that Scott, a guy who at the time did game-by-game recaps of Devils game, was sitting a few rows back from all this. He took notes and the next day assested me with a five minute major for fighting, two for instigating and a game misconduct.

Standing Up for the WWE

Summerslam 2001. That was my first PPV. I started being a wrestling fan very late in life. I didn't get into during the Attitude Era, during the boom of wrestling. Just wasn't my thing yet. I didn't understand why people loved it so much. That night I saw my first PPV and finally got it. It was a wild rollercoaster ride, never a dull moment and just fun to watch with friends.
Over the last nine plus years alot of has changed. Wrestlers come and go in this business so do fans. It's been rough to be a fan at times, terrible storylines and bad wrestling at times. But in the end there was always a light of hope.

Wrestling to me is escapism. I know that for at least four hours every week, I can watch a sports show that wasn't just about winning or losing. It was a way out of the real world for a little while. Alot of people call it a male soap opera, that half true, and by that I don't mean the soap opera part. Wrestling, especially WWE, isn't just for males anymore. It's a family event.

There's been alot of slack on the programs since going PG, honestly I don't understand it. Sure some of the promos are more geared towards kids, but what's wrong with that? Some people seem to forget, in order to grow as a company you can't just rely on your current fanbase, you have to make sure that the future is covered as well. It's one thing to talk about the great times of wrestling with kids, it's a whole different thing to have them experience it as well. While my son is still very young, he's a huge fan or Rey Mysterio and John Cena. I can't wait to take him to his first show to see his eyes light up with joy when his favorite wrestlers come out.

Over the last couple of months, there's been alot of shit being said about the company as a whole. I try to really ignore the critics and just sit back and enjoy my shows. Why have other people tell me what I can and cannot enjoy on a in my house with my family?

The facts are there, alot of wrestlers have died young and it's really ashame. When Eddie Guerrero passed away it was the first time losing a wrestler truly hit me. But times have changed. Drugs aren't as much of the business as it used to be and you can tell by the wrestlers' builds themselves. There is a STRICT drug policy now companywide and it's proven to  be effective, especially when they are willing to suspend some main eventers in the process. You can't blame the WWE for wrestlers commiting suicides and going homical on their families, it's just the easy out in my opinion. People have to cop to the fact that individuals control their own lives. The WWE can only do some much when it comes to helping people out, especially if they refuse the medical help and rehab that they are offered.

In summary, the WWE is not the Devils' playground as non-fans make it sound.

To detractors and people who are attacking the business, mainly because of Linda McMahon's senate race, leave it alone. Let the past go away, let the fans be and just let the wrestling world be what it's supossed to be.

Dancing with The Stars:The Joy of TV Themes (10/18/10)

Well this was actually a very fun week of dancing. It was TV Theme week, something definately very new but I liked it and hope it continues to future seasons. I'm going to keep the format the same for this week, except I'm going to include the name of the show they used for their dance just for the fun of it.
(Couple TV Show  (Judge's Score) My Star Rating out of 5)

Brandy & Maksim Friends (27) ****1/2

Florence & Corky The Brady Bunch (21) ***1/2 (it gave me chills to watch her do the tango to her own theme music)

Kurt & Anna Bewitched (24) ****

Audrina & Tony The Hills (23) ***1/2

Kyle & Lacey Charlie's Angels (20) **** (Len gave them a 5?!? I really wanted to know if the judges were watching the same dance during this.)

Rick & Cheryl Hill Street Blues (24) ****1/2

Bristol & Mark The Monkees (18) *** (Can I judge this with and without the monkey suits? It was like tale of two dances in that case.) "I hate the jive!"-Bristol (Should/Will Go Home)

Jennifer & Derek Married with Children (25) ****1/2 (Talk about a gimmick and outfits that were the complete contrast to the show the theme was from.)

Undercover Boss:Close to Home (10/17/10)

DISCLAIMER: I have never watched Undercover Boss before. I watched last night for the main reason I am indeed a Frontier employee. Before I get into the show I wanted to state a few things. First of all, I was a Midwest employee for over four years before the merger that officially brought Midwest, Frontier and Republic Airlines together as one. Now as I approach my five year anniversary as a ramper, this show airs and I have to say I was a little skeptical going in. I have personally only met Brian Bedford one time, and he seemed very nice and unlike my past big boss, never gave me a reason to dislike him. Plus him bringing in our current management staff that is turning around our ramp operations in Milwaukee is definately a plus in my book. That being said, I am not going to take this oppurtunity to trash talk him. This is not because I am posting this where he or any other management people can see it and get in trouble. It's because I don't feel it's necessary to make my points. Some people I work with will not agree with everything I will have to say in this review, some will. I am not here to please everyone, I'm here to give my honest opinion and view on subject matters, and this is one of them. Thank you.

Opening-Explaination of the Company
I have to thank them for having him explain everything. I've been living this merger for over a year now and even I get confused sometimes. Hearing Brian literally say everything that I've been saying to Mandy for the last year, venting and just trying to figure things out. I also appreciated the fact that he mentioned the 10% cut in Denver when Frontier went bankrupt. The only thing I wish they brought up was the fact that Republic bought Midwest to save us from going bankrupt as well. Also there were alot of hardships here in Milwaukee that weren't mentioned, but I will let that slide to the fact that they are basing the episode in Denver.

Meeting the Bedford Family
Wow, he has a big family. Eight kids?!? More power to him and his wife. I also didn't know he was so religious. I actually have alot more respect for the man now that I know these things about him. It's good to know. I did love the reaction his young daughter had to his undercover disguise, very funny to me.

Presenting Richard Jacobs
This is the part I was most wondering about. Brian is one of the most recoginzable figures in the airline business right now, especially in Denver, Indy and Milwaukee. They really have to disguise him well for this to work. That's why when I saw the wig and glasses, I saw they got it right. As a bonus they also explained the one thing I was wondering, where the cameras are. In the fake-reality of the show, Richard Jacobs is on a reality show where he is one of two candidates for a job at Frontier. While, I admit, it does seem VERY far fetched, in 2010 anything is possible. With that being said, it's time for him to get into training on the job.

Grooming-Denver, CO
We meet Sue, who will teach him how to groom an aircraft. This is a part of the job that is new to the rampers in Milwaukee to be honest. For years we had a seperate grooming staff to do this job, until just over a year ago, especially the day people, never had to groom a plane. Grooming is just another way of saying clean the plane. Pretty much, collect garbage, clean underneath and between seats and the seatbacks, and also internal cleaning the lavs and the galleys. (also if there's time, vaccum it as well) What made this interseting is the "7 minute" grooming turn they explained. That has changed since this was taped, there is more time given to change over a plane. As for everything that Sue said during "union lunch" (that line made me laugh) about her son, it made think of alot of people I work with. There are alot people I work with that put up with alot of shit at home and come to work with a smile of their face despite it.

Ramp/Counter Agent-Oklahoma City, OK
We meet Valerie, who is a cross trained agent. This was interseting to watch for me because I have friends in Columbus that are cross agents. First of all, it was great to see that working on the ramp itself isn't as easy it looks. The agents make it look so simple, but as trainees always learn that this job is hard till you get the hang of it. As for the cross agent part, we don't have that in Milwaukee, even though alot of us can do that job, we don't have to. I do agree with him that it's gross to sweat as much as we do outside and then go up to the ticket counter and be around customers. It's not a good presentation or even that professional looking.

Flight Attendant-Denver, CO-San Diego, CA
First of all, we meet Tui, you is by far one of the best flight attendants I've ever seen. This is part of the job I don't do. The one thing I laughed at was the fact that he was TOO social that the flight went out left. Also, watching him totally mess up the annoucement made me laugh. I think this showed how hard flight attendants work on a flight. It's not as simple as it seems. Hearing him talk about how hard it is the make ends meat doing this job in general. The fact the needs this job, and two other jobs and his wife works two jobs just to make due. The thing that I will say about that is this. I would love more money on my checks, but wouldn't we all? The fact that they completely addressed this made me feel good. I agree with Tui, I don't want much else really, just money and maybe some more effort made towards us as employees. I know it's rough, we are all going through alot right now but top priority should be to make your employees happy.

Lav Agent-Denver, CO
Ah the part of the show that every ramp agent, in every city, was waiting for. Watching Brian Bedford do lavs. We meet Hector, who is going to show Richard how to probably clean the lavs. I know there was alot of people who watched this and were like "gross!", well this is part of the job. If done right, it's a VERY easy job. I laughed really hard when he got nailed with blue juice, I think alot of people did. Hector did get into working extra hours and how much people do to keep this company alive. He really sounded like alot of people I work with on a daily basis. He also mentioned the fact that every ramper is like a part of a big family in their city. It's totally true, a very dysfunctional family, but still. Once you put on the uniform, you are one of us. No one wants to see anyone get fired or to quit for bull shit reasons, it hurts all of us because it affects all of us.

Return to being CEO
Watching Brian in the meeting with management was totally encouragement. It made me feel good about the company as a whole. It's awesome to see and hear. I know alot of people probably don't look at it that way, but I look at as Brian is trying to help build the company properly, something hasn't been done in YEARS.

Revealing that he is Brian Bedford not Richard Jacobs
I read on facebook last night that people had issues with this part because he gave stuff to the people that helped him over the course of the show. I had no problem with this. The facts are, THIS IS A REALITY SHOW. At the end of shows like this there has to be something done that shows that he learned what he said he was going to. This shouldn't be looked into that deeply. I saw the fact that Brian is a good guy, he's willing to do anything for this company, these were the little things that will lead to bigger things down the road.

Final Thoughts
As an employee of Frontier Airlines, seeing this episode helped me feel good about myself. For the first time I don't feel like the lowest scum on earth or the bottom of the barrel in the eyes of the bosses. I'm happy to see that changes are happening and will continue to happen down the road.

Glee:Songs, Romance and Just All Out Fun (10/12/10)

Well, I have to say after last week's emotional rollercoaster this week's Glee was a breath of fresh air. As much as I loved last week's show, it was time for an old-school cheerful storyline driven episode of Glee. The theme tonight was Duets which led to very fun performances and awesome story twists. Let's get into the songs.

Rachel & Finn-Don't Go Breakin My Heart
I have ALWAYS loved this song so when I heard they were going to sing it, I was looking forward it. They didn't disappoint. They both sounded fantastic and they could sing duets every week and I wouldn't have any problem with that. I also liked the fact that after the song Rachel actually showed compassion for new Glee member Sam, by telling Finn she wants to throw the competition. More on that later. A

Mercedes & Santana-River Deep/Mountain High
Why don't these two sing together more often? Last year they blew everyone away with The Boy is Mine, now they pull this out of their hats. This was entertaining and fun. The choreography was a bit distracting at first till they really got into it. It was bitchy, it was hardcore and it was fun. A+

Kurt-Le Jazz Hot
I have two ways of looking at this song. Either it was sure brillance showing that Chris Colfer can really do anything. Or it was really freaky and a little over the top for my taste. I'm not sure. At times I felt both ways. The premise was awesome, I loved the idea that instead of singing a duet, he'll do it on him own, especially since it made sense in the story. Also I love the fact that it felt very Broadway-esce, something they haven't done on this show in a while. Overall, it hit it's points, but at the same time left everyone in the room speechless. B+

"Asian Fusion" Tina & Mike-Sing
I like the name Asian Fusion, even if it doesn't stick. This was hysterical and fun to watch. The dancing was awesome, as usual, and Mike finally gets a song! Sure it wasn't much of a song, but still. On a night where there were going to be alot of serious or romantic numbers, this was needed. Especially since there was a major argument, between him and Tina earlier, over the fact that Mike would never sing. B

Rachel & Finn-With You I'm Born Again
This was their attempt to throw the competition. They did just that. It was uncomfortable and well really bad. I know that was the point, but still, it was really bad. Please don't release this on ITunes, don't do that to the people who buy every song. It's not worth it. This is not good bad like Run Joey Run last season, this is bad bad. C-

Sam & Quinn-Lucky
This was fantasitc. I really enjoyed this performance. Their voices meshed really well together and the flirtation led to great chemistry. I hope they get more chances to sing more songs together. This could be the start of a heavy rivalry for the top spot on performances with Rachel/Finn. A+

Rachel & Kurt-Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy
I wasn't sure when I saw this on the songlist if I was going to like this, then they performed. (Note:I couldn't really enjoy this song during the broadcast because our HD feed started screwing up but I have listened to the song since.) Their voices work so well together and I really want them to perform more together down the road. A

Dancing With the Stars Ratings (10/11/10)

"Never has our audience been in such danger of being hit by a falling star."-Tom

Right when I get a format I like to review this show, they change the way they score the couples. This was based the fact that it was acoustic night and they changed up the set so why not change up the way they do the scores.
(Couple (Judge's Two Scores & Total Score) My Star Rating out of 5)

Kurt & Anna (15/19 34) ***1/2

Brandy & Maksim (20/26 48) *** (didn't think it was as good as they claimed)
