American Idol Results: Spell Broken (4/28/11)

Well we're at a milestone week. The tour was officially announced, yes they are coming to Milwaukee in August. As long as we have the money, and well the babysitters, we will be going this year. The other thing is that we are at the point where it becomes hard to see people go home. Even Jacob and Haley have made realistic cases to be here even though I'm not a fan of either of them. So from here on out eliminations are going to get tougher and have a sting to them.

That being said, after the Carole King medley, the Idols got ready for the elimination process. We came to find out when we got down to three that they used the DWTS logic and  there were no official bottom three it was three people randomly "in danger". Way to change things out of no where.

"In Danger"
Jacob
Casey
Scotty

"Still In Danger"
Casey
Scotty

Eliminated: Casey (again)

It took five more weeks but Casey got eliminated for real this time. It was fitting he went out to I Put A Spell on You because that is indeed what he did to all of us for weeks.

So now we are down to five...hold on to your seats...it's going to be a bumpy ride.

American Idol: Carole King Brings Out Their Best (4/27/11)

This week Idol went back an older theme, the music of Caroline King. It's very interseting to see this show, especially since you know that most of the auidence never heard any one of these songs before last night. Let's get into it...

Jacob
Song: Oh No Not My Baby
Blake: First of all horrible outfit. The performance wasn't bad but not great. At this point I want to hear nothing but great.
Rating (out of 5): ***
Mandy: I am so over Jacob. He looks like Urkel but sounds like Myra. Yes I went there. Please go home to Laura and Big Guy.

Lauren
Song: Where You Lead
Blake: Very surprising performance. I liked it, she made it her own. Very nice.
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: Lauren finally came out of her shell. Young girls can look up to her instead of Miley. I love her sass. She's a young Kelly.

Casey and Haley
Song: I Feel The Earth Move
Blake: Haley actually sounded really good on this song. Casey and her mesh really well. They just seemed like they were having a lot of fun.
Rating (out of 5): ****1/2
Mandy: I love Casey and Haley together. He brings the best out of her. Casey, he doesn't need the help. Possible love connection?

Scotty
Song: You've Got A Friend
Blake: Wow. Very well done. He even found a way to hide the country accent during most of the song. Might be one of his best.
Rating (out of 5): *****
Mandy: I love what Scotty did with the song. He's back and with a vengence. He had me wishing I was 16 so I could legally swoon!

James
Song: Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?
Blake: Didn't expect this from him after everything he's done this season. Well done while being very low key.
Rating (out of 5): *****
Mandy: James really impressed me. Just him and the guitar. He's David Cook and Adam Lambert's lovechild. Great twist on the song.

Scotty and Lauren
Song: Up on the Roof
Blake: Well for two people that are "brother and sister" they have a lot of chemistry. They are always fantastic together, this was no different.
Rating (out of 5): *****

Casey
Song: Hi-De-Ho
Blake: This was a different side of a man that has more sides than a rubix cube. Well done!
Rating (out of 5): ****1/2

Haley
Song: Beautiful
Blake: This wasn't great but might just but enough to survive another week. Just felt like she did sing it as well as she could.
Rating (out of 5): ****

Jacob and James
Song: I'm Into Something Good
Blake: Flirting and singing to J-Lo always helps. These two had so much fun and their melodies were amazing. That was really good.
Rating (out of 5): ****1/2

The Voice Series Premiere (4/26/11)

Last night was the first episode of The Voice, NBC's new singing competition.

I'm not going to review last night's show or even next weeks. I am going to wait till the teams are set and then analyze the show from there.

I will say I love this judging panel.

Adam, Cee Lo, Christina and Blake are hysterical and already have amazing chemistry. Adam and Cee Lo buzzing in just to mess with each other all night was priceless. I was laughing that the first curse of the season actually went to Adam not Blake.

I can't wait to regularly watch this show. The concept is cool and different and it's only going to get more fun.

Dancing with the Stars: Extended Concert Farewell (4/26/11)

Well it seems I picked the right week to NOT watch the DWTS results show. Between the extended Glee and premire of The Voice, there wasn't enough room on the downstairs dvr to record the results show. So that being said it seems like it was an extended dance concert for two hours till we finally got to the results...

In Danger...
Chris/Cheryl
Ralph/Karina

Well two of my favorites were on the bubble. Go figure.

The results....
Chris/Cheryl.
The main reason I started watching this season was for Y2J. While I will still watch and will finish the season, it won't be as much fun for me.

Glee: "I Was Born This Way" (4/26/11)

So this week was the longest episode of Glee. Kinda. The second half of the show felt like mostly commericals but hey they are becoming big enough to do that I guess.

This show was about liking who you are and being happy with how you were born. It's an easy concept but it's 2011 America it's a big deal. So to feel the point of the episode helps big time. Onto the music, there is alot...

Rachel and Quinn-Unpretty/I Feel Pretty
This was actually really enjoyable. I didn't expect the mash-up, but Glee always pulls off great ones. This just fit the show really well and was a great start to an emotional rollercoaster. A+

Finn (with Mike dancing)-It's Gotta Be Me
This song was surprisingly good. They both had alot of fun. Very good story and hit the point really well. A

The Warblers-Somewhere Only We Know
This was Blaine's way and saying goodbye to Kurt as he transfer back to McKinley and rejoined ND. It was really emotional and just really good. A+

Kurt-As If We Never Said Goodbye
Welcome back Kurt!! Not only did he finally get a legit solo, he nailed and welcomed himself back home. Well done and not even that over the top. A

Kurt and New Directions (plus some)-Barbara Streisand
As a dance performance this was alot of fun. Kurt singing the one line of the song was hysterical. The point of the performance worked for what it was for. But honestly, it just felt like wild filler. B

New Directions-Born This Way
Much like last season's Gaga performance of Poker Face, I liked this better than the original. During the whole song they were shirts that showed their flaws. I loved that idea. Overall I loved this performance and this group number actually made storyline sense. A+

That's another Glee down. Next week is a tribute show to Fleetwood Mac with all songs coming off their album Rumours. Hope this goes well.

Dancing With the Stars: Guilty Pleasures (4/25/11)

Well I admit I love this week of the season. I LOVE and always will LOVE guilty pleasure songs. It's just something that makes me happy when I hear good dumb songs. It just shows when I'm sitting here singing along to MmmBop during the opening. Let's get to the dancing...

Kristie/Maksim
Dance: Samba
Song: Baby One More Time
Judge's Score: 26
My Rating: 4.5
Thoughts: This was good. It was good to see Kristie take on and pull off a VERY hard dance. Well done.

Chericho
Dance: Tango
Song: Don't Stop Believin (Note: How is this a guilty pleasure? It's one of the most popular songs ever.)
Judge's Score: 22
My Rating: 3.5
Thoughts: For the speed of the song, this seemed very slow and a little sloppy. I really want to praise Chris every week but I can't do it this week at all.

Romeo/Chelsie
Dance: Waltz
Song: My Heart Will Go On (One of the biggest songs of all time is a guilty pleasure? How?)
Judge's Score: 28 (First 10 of the season!)
My Rating: 5
Thoughts: Wow. That was beautiful. I was so sick of that song after all these years but that was amazing.

Chelsea/Mark
Dance: Quickstep
Song: Walkin on Sunshine
Judge's Score: 28
My Rating: 5
Thoughts: Wait Mark was hurt during that?!?! That was great! So entertaining! What the hell would they have done if he was 100%?

Kendra/Louis
Dance: Samba
Song: Livin' la Vida Loca
Judge's Score: 25
My Rating: 4.5
Thoughts: Her inner hoe came out! Awesome birthday present for Len. The dance itself was good.

Hines/Kym
Dance: Viennese Waltz
Song: End of the Road (Again how this a guilty pleasure?)
Judge's Score: 27
My Rating: 5
Thoughts: Beautiful dance. No idea how this didn't get a ten.

Ralph/Karina
Dance: Paso Doble
Song: Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)
Judge's Score: 24
My Rating: 4
Thoughts: Okay this was more funny than anything else. Not sure how "sexy" this was but it was funny. Ralph seemed a step off the whole dance.

Should Go Home: Kendra/Louis
Could Go Home: Chris/Cheryl

AHL Calder Cup Playoffs: Admirals beat the Stars in Double OVERTIME! *Photos* (4/25/11)

Nothing else has to be said. What a night!

Tough Enough: It's Starting To Get Real (4/25/11)

This week's show was about agility. It seemed to be the most important week so far. It showed who the best trained wrestlers are and who just can't seem to pick it up.

I'll keep this pretty short and sweet.

This week Rima was sent home without even getting to the Bottom 3. It's was almost like a strike three you're out kind of deal.

That's about it for this week. Sorry for lack of full recap, it's hard to explain everything that went on this week, especially on such little sleep.

American Idol Results: And Then There Were 6

After a crazy show last night, we get into the results, live from my new iPod touch.

Lauren, Haley, Jacob and Stefano-Hey Soul Sister
That song never gets old. They did a good job.

Scotty, Casey and James-Viva La Vie
I didn't expect a Coldplay song. Really liked it.

First up...
Casey and Jacob
Casey-Safe
Jacob-Bottom 3

Next...
Lauren, James & Stefano
Stefano-Bottom 3
Lauren & James-Safe

Finally...

Bottom 2

Eliminated: Stefano

American Idol: Journey to the 21st Century (4/20/11)

This week's show was songs from the past 11 years, any song, any genre. Great concept, should lead to great performances. The show though started off on a weird note as the eliminated singers from weeks' past came back and sang Pink's So What and I thought that was a fitting song and a different way to start. After that we got into the show...

Scotty
Song: Swingin
Blake: Awesome like always. He knows what he does best. Different pace for him but it really worked. Just it wasn't a great as always.
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: Scotty, Scotty, Scotty. Not your best at all. You can entertain me with the phone book, but what about the rest of America?

James
Song: Uprising
Blake: Didn't expect the marching band. I actually didn't know there we actual words to this song before tonight. Personally I liked it. It was very rockeresce and he hit all the right notes.
Rating (out of 5): ****1/2
Mandy: James, you are way too big for your britches. And apparently since Adam didn't win, they brought forth his secondcoming. Ick.

Haley
Song: Rollin in the Deep
Blake: Really good. She rocked this song big time. She could sell this sound. Plus this is a really tough song to pull off.
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: I LOVED Haley! She sang Adele and wore polka dots so two thumbs up. She did the song justice and I finally felt she belonged.

Jacob
Song: Dance with My Father
Blake: Holy shit! That was the most real performance ever on this show. I got total chills up and down my body. Amazing.
Rating (out of 5): *****
Mandy: Jacob was real for the first time, no theatrics. Gospel needs him. Sang the hell out of the song and pulled at heartstrings.

Casey
Song: Harder to Breathe
Blake: He totally rocked this out! Fantastic! More of this please! I can't anything but good things about this. I can't believe he kissed J-Lo!!
Rating (out of 5): *****
Mandy: Maroon 5 who? While they went all wussy and mainstream, Casey went and made their song better by singing it. A-friggin-mazing!

Stefano
Song: Closer
Blake: The ladies man is alive and well in this one. He can sing and that might been the dirtest dancing by a straight male on the Idol stage. Overall not the best or his best but great.
Rating (out of 5): ****1/2
Mandy: Stefano's song was meh. Can I just say I'd come closer and would attempt to break him (or at least a piece)? Karaoke eye candy.

Lauren
Song: Born to Fly
Blake: She's a little country bell. Very good. She is simply amazing to put it lightly.
Rating (out of 5): *****
Mandy: Lauren has the potential to be the next Taylor Swift, with a little more swagger. She rocked a song that really isn't great.

Should Go Home: Stefano
Will Go Home: Stefano

Glee: Road to New York Begins (4/19/11)

Well after a month off Glee returned this week. So with just over a month to get go till Nationals, it's time to start storyline overdrive. It felt almost like a reset last night. New Directions realized that Sue screwed them out of the money they were supossed to get to fun Nationals so they had to raise it themselves. We always find out that Asian Fusion, Tina and Mike, Artie and Brittany are in the Brainiacs (well that was written right) and have advanced to the finals and also need money to get them there. So Holly (my favorite guest star ever) told Will that a fundraiser concert should work. Well it was a great idea in theory. Well it didn't go that well. Oh and before I forget Sue formed her own "evil group" The Legion of Doom (Flyers fans of the past were probably pissed to hear that one) which included Vocal Adrenaline coach Dusty Goolsby as Sergeant Handsome, Sandy, the former Glee coach, as the Pink Dagger and Terri as the Honey Badger. I agree with Sue, worst henchmen ever. Onto the music...

Sunshine-All By Myself
Wow she is small. But in that small frame is one of the most powerful voices I've ever heard. She sang this on the ND stage to get them let her sing in the benefit concert. She has 600 twitter followers. Well that didn't happen because Sergeant Handsome stopped her. As for this performance though, it was simply amazing. She has the pipes to sing anything. A

Tina-Follow Rivers
I felt so bad for Tina. She was the first one out and got completely destroyed by heckling led by Pink Dagger. She deserves better than this. She's a great singer. Hopefully she gets to finish a song this season. B+ (for what we heard)

(I'm not including Mike's dance but that was amazing)

Holly-Turning Tables
This was her way of breaking up with Shue. It was a good, but no where near her best on this show. She was more serious than normal so that could be what it was. B+

Mercedes-Ain't No Way
After a crazy storyline all night that she was turning Diva, and refused to perform unless they met her demands, Rachel got her on the stage to close out the show and belt out this song. It was great, no doubt about it. She proved why she should be singing more often. A

Well that's it for this week's show. Next week is a special 90 minute Glee, probably to compete with the premiere of The Voice (ah the wonderful world of DVR), which should be alot of fun, and seems to be the return of Kurt to ND, hopefully Blaine follows with him.

Dancing with the Stars: American Elimination (4/19/11)

A little Toby Keith, a little line dancing and you have one hell of a results show. I'm just not sure if I was a 100% fan of the results....

In Danger...
Kristie/Maks
Chris/Cheryl
Petra/Dmitry

Still In Danger...
Chris/Cheryl
Petra/Dmitry

Seriously where's the Chericho love? Best dance for him all season and still on the bubble? After everything Kristie and Maks have been through they end up in danger after no weirdness or screwups? That makes no sense at all to me.

The results....
Petra/Dmitry. Sad to see them go, but we gotta start getting down to the wire at this point.

WWE Tough Enough: Technical Aspect (4/18/11)

Another very entertaining episode of Tough Enough this week. This week's theme was about technique which led to alot of actual wrestling which I appreicated.

The show started with an endurance race that Luke won, and surprised Rima was the first girl to get to the end. Eric was TERRIBLE as he finished almost a half hour after the leaders.

As for the ring work was concerned, it was first of all great to see Austin back in the ring running the ropes, showing the basics. He is better coach then I ever expected. The first part was about reversals and stuff like that. (They actually had Big Show in the ring for some of this too) Michelle seemed very off.

We then learned that Michelle really misses her daughter and he came to the conclusion that her family was more important to her than the WWE and handed in her belt. Austin completely respected her decision and she left the show.

Then we get to the funniest challenge yet, the cheerleading challenge. I'm sorry but seeing the guys in cheerleading outfits was worth it for me. Rima surprisingly had alot of trust issues in this and almost cost her group (they seperated into three group for pyrimids) and almost busted her neck. (Stacy Keibler returned WWE TV for the first time in years to help the teams. I do have a bone to pick with Jeremiah though, how long have you been watching wrestling? How did you NOT know who Stacy was? Give me a break!)

Back to the ring where they have what amounts to an elimination style tournament where all the contestants would take and give moves until there was one standing. It was actually showing who has the talent and who doesn't. Martin won and earned the coaches' respect that they even dropped his nickname and called him by his real name for the first time all season.

Bottom Three
  • Mickael
  • Ryan
  • Rima
Well Rima saved her ass by showing that she wants to learn and asked for one on one time with either Bill or Booker and Austin granted her wish and she was dismissed for the ring. As for Mickael and Ryan, Austin pretty much let them cut a promo on each other telling them why they should stay. If you didn't see the show and want to see how a young wrestler cuts a promo, watch the last five minutes of last night's show. Ryan totally owned Mickael and with that Austin sent Mickael home.

Dancing with The Stars:God Bless America (4/18/11)

With all the crappy weather in the midwest this week, it was nice to relax and actually feel like it was summer for a little while with a patrotic theme, most songs you never hear unless it's the 4th of July. Overall a good night, and it gets easier and easier to get through since the show was only a hour and a half last night.

Ralph/Karina
Dance: Samba
Song: Sweet Home Alabama
Judge's Score: 22
My Rating: 4
Thoughts: Nice cowboy hat Ralph! I love the personality and gimmick in this dance. Way to fit line dancing into a ballroom dance.

Chericho
Dance: Viennese Waltz
Song: America The Beautiful
Judge's Score: 26
My Rating: 5
Thoughts: Y2J is looking good in his suit. Very good. Beginning to end well executed. They so have AMAZING chemistry.

Petra/Dmitry
Dance: Quickstep
Song: Viva Las Vegas
Judge's Score: 22
My Rating: 3.5
Thoughts: Not a huge fan of the Vegas gimmick with the table. Seemed forced. The dance was good but not great by any means.

Romeo/Chelsie
Dance: Foxtrot
Song: New York, New York
Judge's Score: 26
My Rating: 4.5
Thoughts: Very smooth dance. I liked it a lot.

Hines/Kym
Dance: Rumba
Song: God Bless the USA (Personal note of annoyance: #1 the name of this song is God Bless the USA NOT Proud to Be An American. #2 What they couldn't get a guy to sing the song so they didn't have to change the words? That really annoyed me.)
Judge's Score: 27
My Rating: 5
Thoughts: The dance was fantastic! From beginning to end it was very romantic.

Kristie/Maksim (Rehearsal note: John Travolta as the dance doctor? That was just funny!)
Dance: Foxtrot
Song: American Woman
Judge's Score: 23
My Rating: 5
Thoughts: Maks rips his shirt off and the ladies go nuts! No fall or shoe coming off this week so that's good. I loved the whole attitude, very rockstar. Amazing.

1000th Competitive Dance in DWTS History (and they know how to celebrate!)
Kendra/Louis
Dance: Foxtrot
Song: Yankee Doodle Dandy
Judge's Score: 22
My Rating: 4
Thoughts: Definitely her best dance of the season. A lot of energy and a lot of fun to watch.

Chelsea/Mark
Dance: Samba
Song: Party in the USA
Judge's Score: 26
My Rating: 4.5
Thoughts: I like it better when they break the rules. This was a good dance nonetheless.

Should Go Home: Petra/Dmitry
Could Go Home: Kendra/Louis

The Celebrity Apprentice: Steak TV (4/17/11)

Well what can I say? This was one of the strangest episodes yet. Honestly I don't even know what to say. Let's get into it. Maybe I'll figure out what happened when I write about it.

To simplify things, the teams had to sell steaks. Sounds simple enough? Well on this show it is never that simple.

Team A.S.A.P.-Winning Team
Project Manager: Hope Dworaczyk
Unlike last week the girls actually deserved to win. Hope was actually really good as PM. The only thing I saw was that Star JUST HAD to take over. In all seriousness the team worked well together this week, their presentation was well done and made sense. It was so much better than anything the guys kind of did.

Team Backbone-Losing Team
Project Manager: Gary Busey
Wow. Let's just say it. I don't know what the hell Gary was thinking, saying or doing at all last night. Something about a kite? Something about being able to process your food and that makes you think of Omaha Steaks? Yeah I have no idea. The facts were there. Gary had to get out of there and maybe now the guys will get their acts together now that the cancer of Busey is gone and he is fired.

American Idol Results: Time to Get Serious (4/14/11)

Last night was another mini-concert for the fans at home and it was awesome to watch. More of these please? (Btw, I loved seeing Kelly Clarkson with Jason Alden, she looks even more beautiful than before)

Scotty & Lauren-American Honey
These two can sing duets anytime they want! Amazing from these two. I want to them on the Opry together on day.

Haley & Casey-Moanin
She was dressed like a tramp so points off for that. No idea what they were singing at all but Casey can indeed skat really well.

Results: Scotty, Lauren and Casey-Safe, Haley-Bottom 3
Ford Commerical (Animal)
Very freaky but actually entertaining!

James, Stefano, Jacob and Paul-Sounds of Silence/Mrs. Robinson
Loved it! Them on the tour will be amazing!
Results: James and Jacob-Safe, Stefano and Paul-Bottom 3

Bottom Three:
Haley, Stefano and Paul

Bottom Two:
Stefano and Paul (officially being the first time that a girl is NOT going home)

Going Home:
Paul

Losing Paul for me is not that big a deal. I mean he's good and I will enjoy him for a short stint at the tour but he had no chance of winning and it's time to get really serious.

Overall though, another great results show.

American Idol at the Movies *Fast Recap* (4/13/11)

Due to the facts that my phone acted up last night and my notes from the show didn't save and Mandy didn't tweet her thoughts last night, there will no long drawn out Idol recap this week.

It was another great night. Scotty, Stefano and Lauren were the show stealers, Casey and Paul were doing their own thing, while Jacob, Haley and James just annoyed me despite being good.

Personally I want to see Haley go home and Mandy wants to see James in the bottom three to be humbled.

Who do I think will go home? I have no idea at all. It's too unpredicatable, but it wouldn't shock me if it's a guy.

Dancing with the Stars:Classical Elimination (4/12/11)

After a pretty much magical performance night, it's elimination time...

In Danger...
Chelsea/Mark
Kendra/Louis
Sugar Ray/Ana

Still In Danger...
Chelsea/Mark
Sugar Ray/Ana

Well I honestly didn't expect to see Chelesa and Mark in the bottom of the barrell this week. It came as big surprise. I'm guessing alot of people just didn't get the Harry Potter stuff. Who knows really.

The results....
Sugar Ray/Ana. While I didn't want to see him go, I'm not that surprised to be completely honest.

Celebrity Apprentice: The Battle Over Golden Lotion (4/10/11)

So I'm convinced Donald Trump has a hat with random companies and he pulls one out and calls in a favor. This where Austalian Gold came from, it had to. I HAVE NEVER heard of them. That being said the teams had to put together plastic boxes to advertise and show off the Austalian Gold suntan lotion. Let's get into it...

Team A.S.A.P.-Winning Team
Project Manager: LaToya Jackson
The girls didn't deserve to win this week. They were unorganized, had no direction and no actual set theme till very last minute. There was no communication at all. Yet LaToya pulled this one out of her ass literally. She didn't even use playmate of the year Hope to her advantage of her in freaking gold bikini. It's ridiculous. But they won. Not because they deserved but because of Gary Busey and the pirates.

Team Backbone-Losing Team
Project Manager: Mark McGrath
Okay in all fairness, the whole pirate gimmick was stupid as hell. But come on, gold=treasure, treasure=pirates. How does that NOT make sense? The gimmick got alot of attention and rightfully so. I now want to see my wife wearing skimpy pirate outfit, those were hot. But Gary just had to open his mouth this week and cost his team the win. He pulled the executives asides, ignored Mark, and even tried to pitch himself as the spokesperson of the company. The only reason that Gary didn't go home this week was because Mark actually said that if they lost on concept alone he was to blame. That being said, unfornately, Trump had to fire him.

Tough Enough: Lesson in Courage (4/11/11)

Well I learned a couple of things this week on this courage themed TE.

#1, I NEVER want to be chased down by trained guard dogs. Those dogs are the most vicious animals I've ever seen. Even with the padding I'm shocked no one left bleeding or hurt in anyway.

#2, NEVER be late for practice because Bill will never let it go and I really don't blame him.

#3, Bill DeMott is a TOTAL asshole but badass at the same time. You would think I would feel bad for the girls when they got squashed in the corner and then bodyslammed by Bill over and over again. I didn't, this show is called Tough Enough for a reason. The trainers are going to beat the shit out of you in everyway possible.

Overall a very good show.

Now for the bottom three...

Rima-Miss USA. No joke. She is actually improving but Austin doesn't know if her body can keep up with the pace of a WWE superstar.
Matt-The nine year indy wrestler that just wasn't showing everything that he has.
Ryan-The nice guy, almost more concerned with his girlfriend than becoming a star.

First of all I knew Rima would be safe. She was mainly here as a wake up call for being late. So that came down to Ryan and Matt. I figured Ryan would go home but when Stone Cold sent home Matt I was surprised but also happy because it showed that even though you have the talent doesn't mean you have what it takes to make it in the big leagues. Especially when you don't even show up when you are challenged by the trainers.

Dancing with the Stars:Classical Night (4/11/11)

Wow. This should be a fun ride. A 46 piece orchestra and over dramatic performances. I can't wait to go through this...

Romeo/Chelsie

My Rating: 4
Thoughts: That was alot of fun. I loved the feeling and effect of walking through fire.

Thoughts: This was simply amazing. Where did Ralph learn to dance like this?

American Idol:Shocking Tearful Goodbye (4/7/11)

Last night on Idol, I admit I'm speechless. When they used the save on Casey two weeks ago, it was hoped that they wouldn't regret using it so early. Besides they only get ONE save per season. There's no way that could ever happen again this season, right?

Bottom Three:
Paul
Pia
Stefano

Bottom Two:

Stefano

Eliminated:
Pia

With that the boo birds were heard, the judges were angry and crying. The place was in shock.

After this week, I know I will making sure I multiple vote for all my favorites. Otherwise who knows what's going to happen.

I really hope this is the last really big shocker this season.

American Idol:Rock & Roll HOF Epicness (4/6/11)

Right when I have this show figured out, everyone steps up and churns out an amazing Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night. Let's get into it...

Jacob
Song: Man in the Mirror
Blake: Really good. His best of the season. No doubt at all. He found the pefect song for him.
Rating (out of 5): ****1/2
Mandy: I did not want to maim Jacob tonight. Still way too theatric and too many funny faces, but my favorite performance of his.

Haley
Song: Piece of My Heart
Blake: She finally brought out her inner Joplin and it sounded good. Wow. Where did that come from?
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: I kind of loved Haley tonight. She was sassy, bluesy and gave the performance she needed to. Plus she wasn't a whore-bonus!

Casey
Song: Have You Ever Seen the Rain?
Blake: Breaking out the bass tonight. He sounds straight out of the 60s and that's a good thing. I really liked it.
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: Casey's in his element tonight, and I adored it! I am so glad they saved him because this performance had it all. He's back!

Lauren
Song: Natural Woman
Blake: That was an awesome performance. no her best but I really liked it.
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: Lauren is not a woman yet, but she sure sounded like one. She reminds me so much of Kelly Clarkson and that same song made her.

James
Song: While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Blake: No used to him singing slow. IIt was actually nice to hear something different. Really liked it.
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: James was great! He needed to show America that he could tone it down a notch and still wow us. A softer side was welcomed!

Scotty
Song: That's Alright Momma
Blake: Leave it to Scotty to make Elvis country. I liked it alot. Very fun
Rating (out of 5): ****1/2
Mandy: Scotty showed he's not a one trick pony. Great performance overall, as it was great to see his personality! He nails it again.

Pia
Song: River Deep-Mountain High
Blake: Didn't picture her singing this song. But damn she can sing fast paced music! Very nice and awesome pyro!
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: Pia was amazing! Her song could be a hit on the radio now. She proved herself and I can't wait to see what else she's got.

Stefano
Song: When A Man Loves A Woman
Blake: Whoa! This was fantastic! Another stunning performance! I don't even know what to say. I think alot of women's panties were soaked after that.
Rating (out of 5): *****
Mandy: Stefano, Stefano. Such a sexy song and beautiful performance. I think he was singing to Pia, but all the ladies love his swag!

Paul
Song: Folsom Prison Blues
Blake: Okay wow. Even Paul broke out his guitar and his A game tonight. This is a REALLY tough song to perform and he made it his own. Simply amazing.
Rating (out of 5): ****
Mandy: Paul rocked the house tonight! He's not growing on me any...fine, he may be. Just a little. I didn't want to kick him.

Should Go Home: Jacob
Will Go Home: I have no idea honestly

Tough Enough:The Revival Debut

This week Tough Enough finally returned to television and I couldn't be happier.

Stone Cold Steve Austin makes a very good host. He's believeable and uses his WWE celebrity to his advantage. People respect him for everything he's accomplished. But at the same time he's such a hardass.

The coaches started off well, Trish, Booker and Bill DeMott were good. Hopefully we get to see more of them in the weeks to come.

Now for the bottom three...

Michelle-The "11 year vet" who looked greener than some of the rookies on the show.
Eric-The independent wrestler who joined this show completely out of shape.
Ariane-The girl who just came on to be a diva.

I'm so happy that Stone Cold sent Ariane home. She didn't have the passion for the business that you need to make it in the industry. I doesn't matter if you are new to wrestling, you should at least learn your history before going on a show like this. She pretty much slid her fate when she said her favorite match was Melina vs. Alica Fox. I'm sorry no offense to Melina and all but that's a joke, Alica Fox should be no where near the top matches ever.

Personally I can't wait to take the time to review this show over the next 14 weeks. I get to talk about wrestling with no issues for the next 14 weeks. What more can a die hard fan ask for?

Dancing with the Stars:Surprising Bottom 3 (4/5/11)

And after week three we already have a surprise in the bottom three...

"Bottom Three"
Kendra/Louis
Wendy/Tony
Chris/Cheryl

"Bottom Two"
Wendy/Tony
Chris/Cheryl

I blame the WWE HOF going head to head with Y2J's dance for the reason he was in the bottom. His fans weren't watching. Simple as that.

The results....
Wendy/Tony. This doesn't surprise me at all and I'm glad she's gone.

Celebrity Apprentice:Art=Money (4/3/11)

Well this season of Apprentice has been very unpredicatable to say the least. So when we go into a show that is about fund-raising and it's Jon Rich vs. Marlee Matlin it's going to be a wild ride. But it's everything in between you wonder about.

Before we even got into the task we find out that Jose Canseco left the show to take care of his dad dealing with cancer. That's totally respectable. So Donald donated $25,000 to his charity.

Team A.S.A.P.-Winning Team
Project Manager: Marlee Matlin
Money Raised: $986,000 (Trump rounded it up to a million just because he can)
So the point of this week's show was to make and sell art. That being said the girls really pulled this one out of their asses. They weren't even set up till 5 minutes before the art show. They didn't even have the confidence to think they had a chance to win. Yet they had the donors to pull this off. I give them alot of credit. Latoya also recieved $25,000 for her charity for making the most creative baseball hat which she made it tribute to Michael Jackson.

Meatloaf when he exploded on Gary Busey.
Amazing meltdown with ALOT of cursing.
They made up by the end of the show.
Team Backbone-Losing Team
Project Manager: Jon Rich
Money Raised: $626,000
You know when you realize that Jon raised $450,000 from his painted guitar alone, I was sure the guys could win. But alas they didn't win. Now I expected since Jose had already went home today that the guys would get a pass and no one would be fired. But Trump ask Marlee if someone should get fired and she said yes. So Trump had to fire someone. When things were said and done the firing came down to who made the least amount of money and in one episode two people I didn't like were gone.
Fired: Richard Hatch

Gary Busey Line of the Show:

"A righteous truth, A-R-T is the defination of art. Because you need heart for the art and the art brings the heart."

Wrestlemania XXVII:Full Thoughts and Recap

Well, that was one of the most random, craziest and up and down Wrestlemanias I've ever seen. I can just see alot of people complaining over the next 24 hours about alot of segments on this show. I can also see people down the road calling this one of the worse Wrestlemanias ever. But for now, let's stick to the present and I will get my thoughts on this show.

United States Championship
Sheamus (c) vs. Daniel Bryan
Winner: Sheamus

Um, yeah. They pulled this match from the card. I'm not sure why. They could have cut out Snoop Dogg and put this match on here in the same spot. (more on that in a few) This was a match alot of people were really looking forward to, especially ROH fans that were seeing their boy Daniel Bryan grow up and get on the WM card. Alas it didn't happen and the match was moved to the pre show, only to be thrown out and turned into the yearly traditional battle royal (non title) and Great Khali won that match. Total bullsht in my opinion.

Now onto the actual PPV. (This review will also include instant reaction from facebook and twitter from me, Mandy and our friends through out the show so look for those. It will show the feel of the show throughout from different perspectives.)

First of all, America The Beautiful was sung beautifully by Keri Hilton. That being said, I LOVED the set, it had an old school feel with the old Wrestlemania logo but a new feel with the screens and the stage was set up like a dome. Very nice. Major points for that.

The Rock opened the show with a kinda not so funny recap of all the insults he's been giving to John Cena over the last couple of weeks. Blah. The crowd was red hot though and that was cool. Overall an eh way to start the show, but understandable since he is the guest host of the PPV.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (Twitter)-"Did Rock actually get a Fruity Pepples chant going? Now I've heard it all."

Another fantasic opening video. Those never get old.

Announcers to start the show: Michael Cole (in the Cole Mine), Josh Matthews (he has actually earned and deserves the right to call at least half this show) and Jerry "The King" Lawler. Also Hugo and Carlos are back on Spanish announcing. We only get to see them like once a year nowadays so it's always nice to see them.

World Heavyweight Championship
Edge (with Christian) (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio (with Brodus Clay)

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (Twitter)-"The World Heavyweight title is first?!? Wow, this is going to be a wild night."

Predictation: Alberto Del Rio

So this year the Royal Rumble winner is in the opening contest, NOT the main event. Say what?!?!

I did LOVE Del Rio's entrance though. Very cool and just different. It made him seem important. He drove out with a very fancy mansion behind him like he was pulling out of his driveway and onto the WM set.

Overall the match was good. I'm glad there wasn't ALOT of interference from Christian and Clay, just enough to make their presence known. It wasn't a GREAT match by any means, but good enough for this night. I actually though that Del Rio was going to win when he had the arm bar locked in but Edge was able to counter it into his submission move (which for some reason I can't remember the name of) which Del Rio countered and then got up right into a spear.

They did note that this was the fist time that Edge has successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship at Mania. So that in itself is cool.

Winner: Edge (0 for 1)

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (Twitter)-"This was alot of fun and I'm glad I was wrong."
Matt (Facebook)-"Edge remains Heavyweight Champ!"

Post match, Edge finally got to destroy Del Rio's car with help from Christian, that, how do you say it? Reeked of awesomeness.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Nice to see Del Rio's car finally destroyed! Sweet!"

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

Predictation: Cody Rhodes

This was the first time I actually got to appreciate Cody's new entrance video and music. Very dark and fitting for his new character.

Rey did his very cool traditional superhero entrance this as Captian America which was actually surprising very nice. I like the M on his forehead instead of an A.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"This year we go with Captain America! Sweet!"

Well this was a good match in parts, especially the ending. Overall, I think they could have done more with the time they were given. I had high expectations going in though so that could be it. Just didn't seem up to Rey's WM standard, let alone anyone elses. I definately didn't expect Cody to win on a three count in the middle of the ring after the Crossroads.

I did love how excited Cody was to get his first WM win. That was real to me.

Winner: Cody Rhodes (1 for 2)

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"That was really exciting! And I called Cody winning."

Okay this I have issues with Snoop Dogg and Teddy Long doing a mock American Idol in the middle of the show for no real reason. It was kinda stupid and boring a times. The only real highlights was watching Regal attempt to rap which was hysterical and Hornswoggle. My issues looking back now were that this took up time that could have been where the US Title match was.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"What's going on? Why is Regal rapping? Khali and Beth? Zack Ryder? Roddy Piper?" "Yoshi and Masters was funny!" "Hornswoggle was epic hysterical!"

The Corre (Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Health Slater and Justin Gabriel) vs. The Big Show, Kane, Santino and Kofi Kingston

Predictation: The Big Show, Kane, Santino and Kofi Kingston

This match got changed on Saturday after Kozlov got attacked at Axcess and got replaced by Kofi instead.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Thank you for adding Kofi to this match! Made it better!"

That was it? Really? 8 men come out, two minutes later the match is over after a cobra and knockout punch to Health Slater. Very anti-climatic for me.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"That was the fastest 8 man tag ever!"
Matt (Facebook)-"Big show pinned Heath Slader, fastest 8 man tag ever, the entrances were longer than the match"

Winner: The Big Show, Kane, Santino and Kofi Kingston (2 for 3)

We head back stage to The Rock and they wasted the Divas Champion Eve. They should have had in a match, maybe even debut Awesome Kong. But instead we get a random segment with her, Rock and Mae Young.

INSTANT REACTION
Matt (Facebook)-"Mae Young wants "The People's Strudel" :p"

The only cool thing about this was Stone Cold and Rock being face to face for the first time since Wrestlemania X9. That never gets old.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Holy Attitude Era Batman! Stone Cold and Rock together! Better than Mae Young."

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

Predictation: Randy Orton

I thought this might have been the show stealer of the night. A very good wrestling match.

The one thing I noticed as the match went on was that both men were hitting moves they don't normally hit. It's like they were saving stuff for this night. Especially Punk, it's like he turned on a different switch for the first time in years.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"It's nice to see Punk wrestle his kind of match."

I actually really enjoyed it all the way through up the amazing finish with the RKO in mid air. Both men just kept kicking out of everything till that point. Just was a good wrestling match should have.
INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"RKO in mid air! Hell yeah!"
Matt (
Facebook)-"Randy Orton defeats CM Punk, kind of surprised after all the abuse that Randy was put through on his leg"

Winner: Randy Orton (3 for 4)

More Rock talking to Mean Gene which I have no problem with at all. Then "John Cena's number one fan" came face to face with Rock.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Pee Wee Herman? What the hell? What is going on?"
Matt (
Facebook)-"Pee Wee Herman!?!?!?!? WTF!"

This is what Rock is doing? This is how Rock hosts? Really? This is just totally random.

2011 Hall of Fame Induction AnnouncementI love that the HOFers got their moment but I have always have issues with how the announcement is made. At Wrestlemania 21 they let all the HOFers come out to their entrance music and videos. Ever since then they haven't done this. This year they didn't have the HOFers walk out they were on the stage already then Shawn got his full entrance music. I respect HBK more than any wrestler ever but it made the rest of them look alot less important. INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"HBK! HBK!!! "
Mandy (Twitter)-"@ShawnMichaels_ being inducted into the Hall of Fame just made my being his lifelong fan worth it."

Announcers to for the following match: Josh Matthews, Booker T and Jim RossINSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Jim Ross!!! Yay!"
Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Michael Cole (with Jack Swagger)
Special Guest Referee: Stone Cold Steve Austin
Predictation: Jerry "The King" LawlerSo intead of entrance music, Cole comes out with a mic and talks and pisses the crowd off more. INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Someone shut Cole up already!"
Matt (
Facebook)-"Michael Cole has become a major douche, this match with him and Jerry "The King" Lawler is pretty awesome"I loved the fact that Stone Cold rang the bell so the Lawler could finally put his hands on Cole and go after him in the Cole Mine. I've been wanting to see that for months!Once they got in the ring it was big surprise to see Cole get in so much offense. It shows he took this match seriously and actually trained.INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Cole actually learned how to wrestle! I'm shocked!"

Finally King got in some offense and it was on. Cole FINALLY got his ass kicked. I loved every second of it. Then seeing King get him to tap out to the ankle lock was great!INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-""Michael Cole is the pimple of the buttocks of life"-JR Classic! I missed JR!"
Matt (
Facebook)-"And of course the no brainer, Jerry "The King" Lawler won the match and Swagger carried Cole out for their honeymoon :P"

Then Booker got in the ring, which seemed super random and ended up taking a stunner for old time's sake.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Booker called Stone Cold his dawg. Wow."

But then the Raw GM rang in and Josh Matthews read the email and it was announced that because Stone Cold got involved in the match, King was DQed thus then Cole got the win. Josh was stunned for reading that.
INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"That was the biggest bull shit ending to a match ever!!"

Matt (Facebook)-"Wow......total shit from the GM email, King disqualified and Cole wins? Total BS. But at least Josh Matthews got Stone Cold Stunned :)"Winner: Michael Cole (3 for 5)Announcers to for the rest of the show: Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler (which is the way it should be)No Holds Barred
Undertaker vs. Triple H

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"I knew HHH-Taker wasn't going to be the main event!"

Predictation: Undertaker

First of all I want to comment on the entrances.

Before Triple H came out, a bell tolled and then Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls played and out came an army of men holding shields which led to the return of the King of Kings.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Nice to see the return of the King of Kings!"

Then out came Undertaker to his Johnny Cash music. Unlike years past it was slow and not over the top. It fit the new layer of his character so well.

INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"Motorhead vs. Johnny Cash, music purists loved those entrances."

As for the match. This was by FAR the best match on the show. When Triple H kicked out of the tombstone the first time I honestly didn't know what to expect. But then Trips turned it up a notch but still couldn't get Taker's shoulders on the mat despite a spinebuster through the Spanish annouce table, three pedigrees (one being on a chair), a tombstone of his own, seven chair shots to back and one shot to the head. Finally Trips got the sledgehammer out and was about to use it when Taker hit the Hell's gate submission and Trips had to tap out. INSTANT REACTION
Blake (
Twitter)-"That was an amazing match! I am speechless..."
Matt (
Facebook)-"Undertaker's streak remains thanks to a wonderful finish with Hell's Gate, I knew it wouldn't end without the Triple H sledge hammer :)"

The aftermath was really dark but felt so real. Watching Taker getting put on the gurney and being driving out reminded me of when a football player gets him and then gets a standing ovation when he finally makes it off the field with help.

Winner: Undertaker (4 for 6)

John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs. Dolph Ziggler and Lay-Cool (with Vickie Guerrero)Predictation: John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki

After all that we get Vickie Guerrero's voice to start things. I must say she looks great since she lost some of the weight. She still has her curves though which is nice. She could be a role model for plus size women, if they just stopped making fat jokes.

INSTANT REACTION
Mandy (Twitter)-"I want to be a cougar like @
when I grow up."

Apparently Dolph went from Vickie's boyfriend to her business associate.
JoMo, Trish (looking HOT) and Snooki then came out.

INSTANT REACTION
Mandy (Twitter)-"Wrestlemania makes @
look even better than he normally does."

Well this match was an issue for me. Morrison and Dolph didn't get enough in ring action. But Trish and LayCool looked great together. Alot of chemistry. The crowd wanted to HATE Snooki but totally popped for her when she hit her cartwheel and flips. Didn't expect that. Also the fact that she pinned McCool was a big surprise. I figured it would have been Layla.

Matt (

Predictation: John Cena
Much like the Taker-HHH match, I will start with the entrances.
Miz was given one of the best videos I've ever seen. It showed his journey from The Real World to being on Tough Enough to being the Smackdown host to winning Money in the Bank and winning the WWE Championship. It actually made respect the man more and more. He has had a true storybook career and he worked his ass off to get to this point. I really want to know what this song was because it feel so well. This made Miz feel like main eventer which he needed. The look in his face when he came out showed alot to me. He was in tears and emotional and really couldn't believe this was happening. That's the emotion you need on a night like this. I think he actually might have more fans after this night because of this opening.INSTANT REACTION
Mandy (Twitter)-"I remember watching @mikethemiz on the Real World and thinking he was going to be big. Glad to see I was right."
Then Cena came out with a full church choir. It showed a completely different side of him. The video they made for him was also really cool. It told his story from being a kid who made his own title belts to this point in his career. Alot of people don't like Cena but they really have to respect him. I also didn't know that John was so religious. The words spoke so true and were totally chilling. Then he came out wearing his new red, white and blue shirt (which I really want) and was also really emotional. Great opening.INSTANT REACTION
Mandy (Twitter)-"My two year old freaked out like @JohnCena was a friggin' Beatle. Apparently, I couldn't see him or his new talking shirt."

Then came the match. I might have been the only one who had high expectations going into this match. I really thought the two of them could put on a great match if given the proper time. The problem is that by the time they got started they only had about 20 minutes to work with. The match wasn't bad but I expected better from them.

I really liked the fact that Cena kicked out of the skull crushing finale and Miz kicked out of a very hardcore attitude adjustment. I also liked the fact that Miz knocked out Alex Riley with his own stupid briefcase.

Then came the ending. My jaw almost hit the ground when the match ended with a double countout. I felt cheated. I actually had no problem with Miz winning, but to end the match like that really pissed me off.

Matt (
Facebook)-"What? A draw? WTF!? I was half right at the very least with The Miz winning, he didn't officially win but he kept his Championship"

Rock then came out and actually did something smart that a guest host should do. Shutup the Raw GM and restarted the match. Then he hit the rock bottom on Cena and Miz pinned him. See I would have no problem with the rock bottom BUT I really would have liked for Miz to hit the skull crushing finale afterwards to lead to the pin. It wouldn't have seemed like such a cheap win then.

Matt (
Facebook)-"Correction, thanks to The Rock the match restarted and The Miz won, rather without honor since The Rock helped beat Cena down a bit....kinda bogus, but officially now my prediction was right, The Miz won :P"

This is where I would have ended the show though. Rock on the outside happy with his work and then Miz celebrating to go out. Especially being the first heel champion to win the main event in 11 years. But no Rock just HAD to get the last word in and hit the people's elbow on Miz. The crowd didn't even seem happy for that.

Matt (

Winner: The Miz (5 of 8)

That's Wrestlemania 27. I'm not sure what to make of it all. At points it was a let down, at points it was good show. Not a bad night, but not as great as it could have been.
